PAUL COCKSHOTT EXPELLED FROM THE CPB ⛔️
Last night,
@PaulCockshott, renowned Marxist economist and one of the greatest communist intellectuals and theoreticians in Britain, published the details of his expulsion from
@CPBritain, part of a wider crackdown on anti-revisionists, anti-Zionists and
@ACPMain supporters within the organisation.

His disciplinary has been ongoing since last year, and coincides with the election of the new general secretary
@alexgordon4me whose no-tolerance approach to any Marxist-Leninist opposition has led to multiple suspensions, resuspensions, and expulsions, as well as a gutting of
@yclbritain via its sympathisers in the leadership.
This happens at the same time that a special congress called by YCL members to address concerns about CPB overreach has been unconstitutionally banned, leading to a wave of resignations and the collapse of what remains of most of the YCL's branches across Britain under the leadership of
@georginaycl.
communistpartyofgreatbritain…
Paul Cockshott's expulsion is just the latest chapter in the leadership's purge of Marxist-Leninist opposition to the Labour Party, Israel, etc., from within the CPB and its youth wing.
But on paper, these are the allegations against him:
1. Antisemitism and Conspiracy Rhetoric 🇮🇱
In March, Paul shared tweets by
@CraigMurrayOrg and
@Tracking_Power, supporting the claim that the attack on a Jewish ambulance service in Golders Green in London was most likely a false flag operation used to justify military escalation against Iran.
The Zionist leadership of the CPB has been engaged in a bitter struggle with its anti-Israel members, particularly among the Party's youth, with leading figures like executive member Mary Davis zealously defending Israel's right to continue its occupation of Palestine.
With the successful anti-Zionist motion within the Green Party in favour of a One State Solution, this conflict will only intensify, since both the Labour Party and the CPB consider this position antisemitic.
2. Support for the ACP ☭☰
The CPB jealously guards the name, if not the legacy of communism in Britain and is terrified that by undermining the liberal, pro-Democrat CPUSA in America, the ACP could inspire a similar reorientation of Marxist-Leninists in Britain against itself, and by extension, against the Labour Party.
This fear has led to a hypervigilant sectarianism against support for socialist and communist organisations outside of their accepted bubble, including the ACP, despite the fact that such support does not break any rules, and in fact aligns with their party's rhetoric on the importance of a "united front".
A spectre haunts such parties, because they see within this spectre a vision of their own collapse.
3. Breach of the disciplinary/social media ⚖️
Due to the party's own incompetence, Paul's disciplinary dragged on for months, past the party's self-imposed deadline of when they would get back to him. Understandably, Paul made a short public statement of this fact in response to the CPB breaching its own protocol.
Aware of the CPB's recent crackdown on activists via its disciplinary process, Paul took a transcript of his hearing for his own defense. This was then retroactively used to justify a suspension which had no justification in the first place.
4. Involvement in YCL Materials 📕
While the CPB kept Paul at arm's length, the YCL at one time valued his contributions and sought him out for education work, including educational events, webinars, and an updated print/online study guide.
Since the crackdown under Alex Gordon and Georgina Andrews, this material has been purged from the YCL's website. The Party's crackdown on education demonstrates a severe intellectual anxiety over the vulnerability of its doctrine.
The expulsion of a great intellectual like Paul Cockshott, as well as anyone who resists YCL/CPB revisionism and sectarianism, has proved definitively that there will be no communist restoration within these organisations.
After 75 years of failed attempts to reverse the decline of Marxism-Leninism from within the legacy structures of the CPB and CPGB, this project is weaker than ever before.
While liberals detaching themselves from these organisations will most likely gravitate towards other liberal-left alternatives, such as the Green Party or Your Party, communists seeking a leadership which supports their talent and discipline should instead join up with communists in
@WorkersPartyGB.
There, they will be put in touch with like-minded comrades, their contributions will be valued, and their skills and experiences will be put to productive work.
