Struggling to put in to words this evening how I feel about the scoping exercise report so all I will say for now is this;
These children, these families deserve so much more and my heart goes out to each and every family and young adult who has just discovered that they have been excluded from this inquiry. I’m sorry that yet again, you have been failed. Shame on this government if they choose to move forward with this

We don’t think it can be emphasised enough that the families and children most affected by the scoliosis scandal are once again the people being purposely left outside the room.
It has been insult after insult to us in this community.
The two groups who have campaigned for us relentlessly have being kept in the dark and others who have “Zero” involvement in our situation brought into the room to discuss our children.
We the parents affected have been completely ignored.
This is another slap in the face in our ongoing fight for justice for our children failed by this scoliosis scandal.

We don’t think @RTERadio1 that family carers on €270pw, if you qualify for the top rate, is anywhere near what’s needed to survive in Ireland 2026 could you ask @jackfchambers what does he intend to do to make life better for the poorest in Irish society.
Remember when €350 was the min needed to survive.

Staff delivering disability services for the State are paid less than their public sector colleagues for the same work.
A WRC deal began closing the gap, but it ends this month, and continued parity depends on the next public-sector pay deal.

We are delighted to be attending this fantastic lecture tonight titled “Reframing road safety with Tom Flood”.
Chaired by @jasoncullenfilm from @DublinCommuters Tom gave a wonderful presentation around transferring his very successful media career in Canada to shifting his skills over to advocating for safe secure cycle and independently mobile infrastructure especially for communities and especially our children.
Afterwards a brilliant Q&A was had and Bernard got to ask some questions in relation to disabilities and independent mobility, the answers Tom gave were very much in the vain of someone who champions safe and inclusive independent mobility, more of this we say!!!!

Listening to Daniel McConnell on @morningireland talk how government moved very quickly and released nearly a billion euro to “clear O’Connell st” of the protesters shows us exactly how government views people with disabilities and carers.
Along with the @IrishWheelchair and @DisabilityFed we were campaigning for an emergency cost of living support six months before the trucks parked up but we were told without hesitation NO!
We know our place!

The ongoing reality for a lot of people with disabilities and their carers is poverty!
We have been ignored for a year after a sustained campaign and lobbying Government to address the issue but let’s be honest can anyone see Government announcing a payment of €488pw in this budget?
Of course not.
