Trish, founder of The Bridgets — Victims Against Revictimisation from the Court System, spoke about what can be at stake when a child discloses abuse or a mother raises safeguarding concerns. She warned: “Parental alienation should never be used as a shortcut for dismissing abuse allegations, discrediting protective mothers or silencing children.” Her message was clear: allegations of abuse and coercive control must be properly investigated, and children must have an opportunity to have their voices heard safely and independently before life-changing decisions are made. Trish also highlighted why greater transparency matters. “Without published judgments, we cannot see how disclosures are assessed, how expert evidence is evaluated or why removing a child was considered to be in their best interests.” Walk In Our Shoes is calling for a family court system that is: TRANSPARENT. Reflecting on his own experience as a father, Senator Clonan spoke about something many people may never have had to contemplate — what it means for a parent to be separated from their child and, at the same time, feel unable to speak publicly about what is happening. He spoke about the lack of transparency, the impact of the in-camera rule and the passage of time while cases continue through the courts: “The constant adjournment of cases, time is slipping away — a year, two years, three years — and that time with the child is lost.” Senator Clonan concluded by commending the courage of those behind Walk In Our Shoes and pledged his support for the campaign. ❇️Let me be crystal clear❇️ 🔹I strongly believe that @HMcEntee should resign. 🔹By her actions & her inaction, she has caused so much harm to protected disclosure makers, who like me have called out wrongdoing. 🔹I think of @NoelMcgree, John Barrett and @WhistleIRL in particular. All @BlowersIreland would support a swift resignation. 🔹Handing the criminal offenders a free pass to continue to threaten, penalise & retaliate against whistleblowers simply should not be survivable as a former Minister for Justice. 🔹But it seems to me that this is the very reason why she has survived. 🔹@HMcEntee received her orders & she followed them. 🔹The question is - from whom? 🔹Her officials wrote stating they could “not provide legal” advice when notified of veiled threats against me. 🔹Read that evidence of inaction & signalling again. 🔹Now, let us look to Mr Justice Senan Allen - a sitting Court of Appeal judge. 🔹Allen KNOWINGLY breached my identity in a fabricated Parliamentary report published in September 2015. ‼️Referring to me in his report as‼️ 🔹female; 🔹a trained lawyer; and 🔹a qualified solicitor, made me immediately identifiable as one of four female experts & the ‼️ONLY lawyer‼️ 🔹A well respected & senior colleague had (by that point) resigned in solidarity with me. We had been investigating the role of @centralbank_ie 🔹Allen refused to interview that person who was vocal about sharing my concerns. 🔹Within weeks, certain of my disclosures were substantiated, but Allen refused to come forward. 🔹But having been made readily identifiable in a very small banking / finance / legal arena, this led to my being encouraged by lawyers (I had been given reason to trust) to leave Ireland as I would “not be employable”. 🔹I followed this advice & at the age of 47, went to London with my minor child. This was profoundly destabilising. 🔹But it served the State’s desired purpose. 🔹I would be absent & largely unaware of the continued slaughtering of SMEs in Ireland at the hands of British banks - the fraudulent use of swaps & derivatives to repair impaired balance sheets. My specific area of expertise. See my pinned post. 🔹I remind you that I had raised disclosures about the Central Bank of Ireland & the conduct of the Inquiry generally. My report ran to 86 pages (not 72 as I earlier mentioned in error). 🔹I initiated legal proceedings with “assistance” of the same team who had encouraged me to leave Ireland. The proceedings were beset with delay after delay after delay. 🔹Despite my having evidence that my disclosures were correct & much later that I had inadvertently become involved in one of Ireland’s largest ever financial, legal & judicial scandals - the message was that I could be looked after if I abandoned my challenge to the Senan Allen Report. 🔹Not knowing that I was a pawn in a deeply sinister game, I refused and made it clear in writing that I would not enter mediation without a commitment that the fabricated Allen Report would be addressed. 🔹I was told that 14 people were in attendance at the mediation for the State. 🔹Was this true? I don’t know. 🔹Was this said to intimidate me? Perhaps, but the identities of all 14 people were willingly shielded by the mediator. 🔹This is a taxpayer funded legal team benefiting from their identities being shielded. 🔹I have gone on too long for now. In the past few weeks, I learned that my counsel had been acting for the Central Bank, while representing me. 🔹While I was being asked to abandon my challenge to an official parliamentary report - in the form of a vicious & fabricated personal attack against me - my own counsel was simultaneously earning legal fees from the Central Bank. 🔹Is that someone welcomed in the Irish legal profession? The press conference provided an important opportunity to explain why people across all 26 counties are coming together with one clear call: For a family court system that is transparent, trauma-informed and trustworthy — one that places children’s safety, voices and welfare at the heart of every decision. Our sincere thanks to Senator Tom Clonan, Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh and Deputy Paul Gogarty for their support for yesterday’s press conference, and to the other TDs and Senators who attended to listen and engage with the issues raised.
