There, Claude works through data and literature to generate hypotheses and candidate biological systems to study. After our scientists review Claude’s hypotheses, they test the most promising ideas, with all lab work done by our scientists.
We’d like to extend this approach to a broad range of problems—in genomics and in other fields. If you have a proposal for a research question, we’d like to hear from you.

I expected the Trump tariffs to be a disaster. I'm puzzled by what I'm not seeing.
They don't seem to have harmed the US economy in any way I can notice with my eyeballs or in the statistics. Business activity is booming, unemployment seems to be low, household consumption is up, stock market seems to be doing fine.
Is my whole model of trade and economics broken? How is he getting away with this?

Nick Cimino of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin has an awesome pizza & pasta restaurant. Mama Cimino's. I met Nick tonight when I rolled in tired and hungry, a stranger in town. We got to talking about his family, which came to America from Sicily in 1971. Nick finished up by proudly telling me that his son Tony recently opened a place in the Pawn Stars food court in downtown Las Vegas. Tony's Pizza.
To which I said, "I have a little apartment in Las Vegas, Nick. Your son's restaurant is exactly one block from me & I can see it from the window beside my writing desk. I gazed out at it this morning when I was working, in fact, about an before I flew to Chicago so I could drive here."
I'll be checking on Tony for his dad & eating at his restaurant.

The beauty of biology is it is SO EASY to discover something new. We don't know what 30% of E. coli genes do. 6000 new insect species are discovered each year. They just found a new cat!
The hard part is discovering something that is new AND noteworthy. This... isn't that.
There are countless CRISPR-like sequences hidden in genomes of many organisms (eg @Basecamp_Res). Well-known. Vast majority not interesting.
This isn’t a noteworthy discovery.
The hype level leads me to question how serious @AnthropicAI is about its biotech effort (I really hope it’s more than a PR stunt).
