Older people are now reading "a lot of chatbot rubbish" and that's "dangerous." After four decades at Private Eye, Ian Hislop tells #Newsnight it's not just young people falling for disinformation and why it "is always worth correcting."

So the problem isn’t dictators having nuclear weapons. The problem is dictators having nuclear weapons without complimenting Trump first. How are Republicans not embarrassed at this shit?
Q: You said that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. Why not? North Korea can have nuclear weapons. Trump: Ahh because you had a different president. Kim Jong un. He's a friend of mine. He likes Trump. I like him. As long as I’m around, he’s going to be fine. You know why? He respects me.

A lot of you from outside Ireland are probably hearing about the Garvaghy Road and wondering what all the fuss is about. 1998 - After the parade was banned from marching on the Garvaghy Rd, ten Catholic churches were set on fire across Ulster in one night. In the following days, loyalists attacked Catholic homes, schools and businesses. Multiple houses were petrol-bombed, resulting in the murder of 3 young boys, the Quinn brothers. Their home was targeted because their mother was Catholic. She mother woke to the sound of her children screaming in fear and the house full of smoke. Sadly the boys, Jason, Mark and Richard, did not make it out. Garfield Gilmour was sentenced to life in prison after he admitted to driving three members of a UVF unit to the house, but later that was reduced to manslaughter. Johnny McKay and brothers Raymond and Ivan Parke were named by Gilmour as the killers, but were never charged because of a lack of evidence. In the days following the murders, loyalist bands defied orders not to play music while marching passed the home of the Quinn boys grandmother. Tonight, a court overturned an earlier ruling banning the parade from marching on the Garvaghy Road, crowds have gathered and confrontation now seems inevitable with that march set to go ahead early Sunday morning. The courts allowing this march to go ahead is absolute madness!

“Absolutely disgusting.” Parents reacted with boos and jeers after a Reform-run council in South Tyneside voted to close 10 nurseries. The publicly owned South Tyneside Accredited Network for Learning in the Early Years (Stanley) provides affordable, quality childcare and employs over 100 people. Working parents will now only have the option to use private nursery providers of variable price and quality, Mark Wilson of the GMB union told the BBC in June.

For Goodwill Ambassador Theo James, the right to seek safety is personal. His grandfather fled Nazi-occupied Greece and found refuge in Syria. His family’s story reminds us of the world’s promise from 75 years ago: no one forced to flee should be denied the chance to find safety.

#FreeDrHussamAbuSafiya #GazaGenocide #FreePalestine #Gaza

Activist: "Farmers pump their cows full of antibiotics. It's in every glass of milk." Dairy farmer: "Do you know what happens if it is?" Activist: "People drink it." Dairy farmer: "The tanker gets tested at the gate. One cow's worth of antibiotic in 20,000 litres and the whole load goes down the drain. Every farm on the run that morning gets their milk tipped, and the farm that did it pays for all of it." Activist: "So you're saying it never happens." Dairy farmer: "I'm saying a treated cow on this farm gets red tape round her leg, goes to the back of the parlour, and her milk goes in a bucket for 6 days. I treat her like she's radioactive, because financially she is." Activist: "You still use them." Dairy farmer: "On a cow that's ill. Same as you. The vet writes it up, the date goes on the wall, and the wall's checked. Use on this farm is about half what it was 10 years ago, and that's every dairy I know." Activist: "Routine use in feed, then." Dairy farmer: "Illegal for years. Growth promoters went 20 years ago. You're describing a chicken shed in a country I don't farm in." Activist: "You can't prove it's not in the milk." Dairy farmer: "I can prove it 3 times a week, because they test it 3 times a week and send me the sheet. When did you last get a sheet on your oat drink?" Activist: "That's different." Dairy farmer: "It is. Nobody tests it. Mine's the most inspected liquid in your kitchen and it's the one you're scared of."
