If you're going to insist that it's antisemitic to tell Jewish people what is and isn't antisemitic, then a lot of people owe Zack Polanski an apology for the way that they've spoken to him these past few weeks
- @RMCunliffe “I am a Jewish woman being called antisemitic. I don’t think you would sit here & lecture somebody of any other religion or race on what counted as bigotry or racism towards them in the way you have explicitly called me antisemitic..I don’t think you would do that

The political and media classes in this country are militating against the words “Zionism is racism” far more passionately than they ever did against the actual Zionist genocide in Gaza. Children were killed on an industrial scale in the cause of Zionism.

My own impression is that Green members, new and longstanding, think that opposing genocide/Zionism and climate change go together and are unimpressed by the heavy-handed media/political attacks. Respected Green figures like Rupert should think twice before contributing further to them.
It’s pretty safe to say that when one has alienated the likes of Aaron Bastani, George Monbiot and Peter Tatchell (not to mention Caroline Lucas, & all the Green MPs elected in 2024), as the ‘Zionism is Racism’ has succeeded (sic) in doing, then one has lost the public debate:

This is one of the most basic measures the Labour Government could have taken to make taxation fairer. Once again this Labour Government is showing they'll side with wealth and power rather than everyone struggling right now.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Chancellor Healey rules out CGT rise. That's bad news for a former Mayor of Manchester who famously once said “we have overtaxed labour and undertaxed wealth." Our thoughts? 👇🧵1/4 theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

The Energy Secretary says North Sea drilling “won’t take a penny off energy bills.” The Health Secretary says summer heatwaves put pressure on the NHS. So where’s the Government’s impact assessment? If they don’t have one, they must delay the oil & gas decision until they do.

The government has officially blocked my call for a public inquiry into Britain's role in Gaza. Delaying scrutiny will not make questions about British complicity in genocide disappear - and we will never give up until we have brought about justice for the Palestinian people.

More here:
NEW: Andy Burnham has officially rejected Jeremy Corbyn's call for a public inquiry into "British complicity" in Gaza. The former Labour leader wrote to the PM in July asking him to back his Private Member's Bill for a Chilcot-style inquiry, which would look at any UK military, economic or political cooperation with Israel since October 2023. This would include the power to question ministers on the supply or use of weapons, surveillance aircraft and Royal Air Force bases. The idea was rejected by Starmer. The govt have confirmed in response to a written question today that their position remains unchanged under Burnham, saying an inquiry isn't necessary due to the "extensive mechanisms already available for parliamentary accountability and oversight". Corbyn said:“Andy Burnham rightly said that the last Labour government “got it wrong” over Gaza. But his words will mean very little if he doesn’t break with the last government’s shameful record of complicity, secrecy and evasion. "Many of us will remember in the aftermath of Iraq, the government of the day spent many years resisting attempts to uncover the truth. In the end, they could not prevent the inevitable. Just like Iraq, we will remember those who obstructed the path to justice."

Ed Davey refuses to work with the only Jewish leader of a British political party because that Jewish leader is not a zionist. This is, needless to say, extremely antisemitic.
I am ruling out our party entering into a national partnership with any party that is committed to a dangerous and antisemitic policy like the Green Party’s. Here is my letter to the Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews 👇

We have a crisis of inequality in this country. It has been fed by successive governments taxing work, not wealth. This government could change that - but it looks like they won’t…

Is it MORE outrageous than genocide?! Is it MORE outrageous than the government mass arresting old, blind & disabled people for holding pieces of paper with words on opposing genocide?! Is it MORE outrageous than our democracy & freedoms we were told our grandparents sacrificed their lives for being dismantled on behalf of a foreign state & the billionaire class?! YOU lot are the ones who dishonour the message behind the poppy!
“For goodness' sake, is nothing sacred anymore?!” @BenKentish accuses pro-Gaza activists of ‘hijacking’ Remembrance Day with their ‘disgraceful’ Palestinian poppy campaign.

The Lib Dems called Israel’s actions genocide. That makes their behaviour more self incriminating. They haven’t ruled out working with Labour, which helped facilitate genocide. Neither do they accept obligations of 1948 Convention on the PREVENTION + Punishment of Genocide

On Piers Morgan Uncensored, The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal slammed Jacob Rees-Mogg's call for a major hike in British military spending and slashing "stupid welfare": "When this war economy starts, and when the war actually starts, and they start tempting nuclear annihilation, it's going to be the poor and working class children who go and fight for Latvia and Estonia against Putin. It's not going to be the children of the wealthy elite. And that's a sacrifice that Jacob is willing to make."

Will Labour next week in the budget tell us sad stories about "difficult decisions" and how there's "no money left?" Or will this Labour Government challenge the broken economic thinking that has lead us to this place? And tax the assets of multimillionaires & billionaires? 👀
