Afghanistan needs no explanation... the Taliban came back stronger after two decades of our best efforts. The pattern never changes: dictator falls, chaos rushes in, extremists grab power, civilians end up worse than they started. Yes, Iran's protesters deserve freedom. Absolutely. But American bombs have a terrible track record of delivering it. They're much better at creating power vacuums that birth the next ISIS. The Ayatollahs are monsters, no question. But before we tip these scales with airstrikes, we should ask ourselves honestly: are we liberating Iran or just creating Syria 2.0? Revolution from within might actually work.
