Parkinson’s took Richard Sparks’s balance and speech and forced him into an early retirement. He figures that alone cost him $500,000 in lost wages. The government knew the water at Camp Lejeune Marine Base was poisoned – the same water that Richard drank – but they covered it up. Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward at the DOJ offered Richard $75,000 and even included a poison pill in the offer: if Richard doesn’t accept the DOJ’s offer and a judge awards him less at trial, he will have to pay the DOJ’s costs and attorney fees! That’s truly shocking. $75,000 is less than a sixth of what Richard lost by having to retire early, not to mention all the medical bills that have piled up for his treatment. I can’t believe this @ASGWoodward guy is actually employed by the DOJ! Get rid of him!! He is making the administration look like they couldn’t care less about our veterans.

Now he is dead, his wife is critically injured, and their two children have been left traumatized after an attack inside the place they should have been safest—their own home. Police arrested 32-year-old Elijah Hemingway and charged him with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault and other offenses. But here’s the part I cannot get past: Hemingway was reportedly already OUT on non-monetary bail in an unrelated burglary case. How many times are families supposed to pay the price when someone accused of a crime is released back onto the streets? Gina Evans was stabbed and STILL managed to get her 8- and 12-year-old children out of that house alive. Those children escaped physically unharmed—but they lost their father and watched their mother fight for her life. Dr. Evans spent his life trying to save other people's children. Sunny Hostin revealed on The View that she was the holdout juror in the 1991 Daniel Rakowitz trial—the jury that ultimately found him not criminally responsible by reason of mental illness after nine days of deliberations. Contemporary reporting confirms Hostin, then known as Asunción Cummings, served on that jury and was quoted after the verdict. But an actual newspaper article from the time reportedly described the holdout as an “unemployed man” and quoted another juror accusing him of wanting to drag out deliberations for the daily juror pay. Now, 35 years later, Sunny says: “That was me.” Well… somebody's version of events doesn't add up. 👀 Was the newspaper wrong? Were the other jurors wrong? Was there more than one person holding things up at different points? Whatever the explanation, that 1991 article raises some VERY legitimate questions about the story being told today.
