I don’t usually do this, but I feel compelled to say something on Holocaust Remembrance Day this year.
In just the past year, we’ve seen deadly attacks targeting Jews in the U.S., U.K. and Australia, countries that are supposed to be safe havens.
There’s always been antisemitism online, but today it’s ubiquitous and often casual: “3,000 years” and “🧃” in every comment section. It’s scary how quickly this moral rot has taken hold among young people from across the political spectrum, and it feels like efforts to counter it only make it worse.
With everything going on in the world right now, I realize this may not be a major concern for you if you’re not Jewish. But at the very least, don’t feed into it and call it out when you see it. Because we already know where this can lead.
