I like Mark Rylance’s version because he performs it as a king knowing he’s sending his army into a battle where they are outnumbered and will likely die. Most actors perform it as a call to arms monologue.
Probably my favourite version. It's much less bombastic than Olivier's or Branagh's. #StCrispinsDay

I stopped eating meat on November 1st, 2023. What covenant should I make with myself on November 1st, 2026?

For the record, today's protests in France seem to have taken place without major incidents, probably because after last week's fiasco the government had mobilized a massive amount of police and introduced various restrictions on where people could protest.

Excuse me. Sally Rooney is an AUTHOR!
New fusion political ideology called 'effective Maoism' where you work a high-flying finance job and then wire 10% of your income to communist guerillas.

I'm going to subscribe to the NS so I can read the Tanjil Rashid piece on Sally Rooney. Prediction: it will annoy me.

Can't believe he's at 50/1 odds on some sites and not even mentioned on others
Fabien Frankel would make a stellar James Bond.

These might be my favourite collection of cover designs I've seen in a while. Impressive coherence given Vingtage used 4 different illustrators.

It feels so strange to me that Hemingway's earliest works were written a century ago.
Author Ernest Hemingway publishes a new novel, titled “The Sun Also Rises.” The book retails at $2.00 per copy.

F. Scott Fitzgerald - All The Sad Young Men A collection of short stories set in 1910-1920s Anerica. I liked almost all of them and some were excellent: Rich Boy, Winter's Dream, Baby Party, Hot And Cold Blood. This was my first time reading Fitzgerald and I was struck by how funny he can be. Some of the absurdity and class-and-gender humour reminded of Jane Austen. A good first impression and I'm keen to read The Great Gatsby next — apparently it echoes a few of these short stories.
