Seems it was just yesterday that we launched the @AlgoBharat initiative in India to train a new generation of developers and help startups and enterprises realize the power of blockchain. Several weeks ago I decided to step down from my role as India Country Head at Algorand, and I'm excited to take a moment to celebrate what our team built and the role our developer community has played in catapulting India as a hub of web3 innovation and impact. India stands out for the challenge that hundreds of millions of its residents face in accessing capital and services due to a lack of formal credit history, reputation, identity, trust. That, combined with a large developer base, made India a focus market at Algorand during my tenure. In the four years since we started our work, India's developers started building decentralized solutions to serve those citizens that traditional models have failed. The solutions built by @MannDeshiOrg, @SEWAFed, @sow_and_reap, @NaandiWater are just a few examples from India that highlight what blockchain can deliver. As our ecosystem and the acceptance of blockchain grows, these solutions stand to have transformational impact. By most accounts, we delivered strong results in a challenging market. Over 10k developers joined the Algorand community, students launched Algorand Blockchain Clubs on 110+ university campuses across the country, and thousands opened wallets to experience for the first time how technology mediated trust can remove barriers. It was spectacular to see this all come together at our Algorand India Summits in Delhi (2023), Hyderabad (2024) and Bengaluru (2025), and most recently at our Developer Retreat in Goa (2026). My deepest gratitude to @niikkhhiil, @mohitaa_gupta, @mdmudassir0143, @maroti_ps, @thosar_meet, @AkashMallareddy and our crew of amazing regional ambassadors who put in endless hours toward this mission. You are as good as they come, anywhere in the world.
