Canada is moving toward a clearer framework for tokenized bank deposits.
@VersaBank, a Canadian bank, is currently piloting its Real Bank Tokenized Deposits (RBTDs) on public networks including Algorand, while working toward a commercial launch.
JUST IN: Canada's banking regulator OSFI just confirmed tokenized deposits are legally no different from traditional bank deposits, giving federally regulated banks a green light to build on blockchain without a new regulatory category.
