PHOTON-COUNTING CT: THE BEST IMAGES ARE NOT THE PRETTIEST. THEY ARE THE ONES YOU CAN TRUST. After five years of using Photon-Counting CT (PCCT) in clinical practice, one thing has become increasingly clear to me. Beyond the extraordinary temporal resolution of Dual-Source CT (66 ms, true hardware-based), what really changed the game was the combination of unprecedented spatial resolution, contrast resolution, and remarkably low image noise. We can visualize tiny anatomical structures, reduce artifacts from stents and calcifications, and characterize coronary atherosclerosis with remarkable detail. But the real breakthrough is not simply better images. IT IS GREATER DIAGNOSTIC CONFIDENCE. When assessing a left main coronary stent, I dont simply want an image suggesting everything is fine. I want the highest possible confidence that everything IS fine. Yet I still hear colleagues asking: Nice images, but whats the clinical impact? Well, heres the point: IMAGE QUALITY IS NOT COSMETIC. DIAGNOSTIC CONFIDENCE IS NOT A LUXURY. DIAGNOSTIC UNCERTAINTY IS NOT HARMLESS. Uncertainty means potentially unnecessary examinations, invasive procedures, diagnostic delays, additional costs, patient anxiety, and sometimes inappropriate clinical decisions. And the safest examination is not necessarily the one with the lowest radiation dose. It is the one providing a reliable answer with the lowest reasonable overall burden to the patient. Of course, better images dont automatically guarantee better outcomes. But better anatomical information, when correctly interpreted, can translate into more accurate diagnoses and better clinical decisions. We need to move beyond pixels and spectacular images and start discussing diagnostic certainty, reproducibility, downstream testing, and patient safety. Because the real question is not simply: Can we make the diagnosis? It is How accurately, how confidently, and at what overall cost to the patient? THE REAL PRODUCT OF DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING IS NOT AN IMAGE. IT IS A CLINICALLY ACTIONABLE ANSWER. #PhotonCountingCT #CardiacCT #DiagnosticConfidence #PatientSafety #CardiovascularImaging

A @EduardoClark se le ha informado claramente la situación crítica en Instituciones de Salud, está perfectamente enterado y es por esto que el presentarse en mañanera y hacer afirmaciones falsas como justificación a a su incompetencia es criminal. @EduardoClark se te informa , es hoy, todo el personal de salud, médicos quienes se esfuerzan a diario al intentar sacar adelante a los pacientes, incluso poniendo TODOS de su bolsillo, medicamentos, insumos de lo más básico (impresoras, hojas, jabón, agua!!!), material (conexiones, electrodos, reactivos, material de quirófano, etc,etc), a insumos de alto costo, incluso se paga hasta el mantenimiento de equipos. Sin un diagnóstico claro de la grave crisis en @SSalud_mx y asumirlo @DKershenobich @EduardoClark @AlexSvarch @zoerobledo @martibatres @ISSSTE_mx @Tu_IMSS @IMSS_Bienestar @Pemex , es imposible solucionar las graves consecuencias en la población. Can clinically manifest cardiac sarcoidosis occur in the absence of LGE on CMR?
