The non-deterministic aspect of AI stresses me out. I’m autistic and like the patterns and stability of programming, and have been frustrated by my interactions with AI sometimes. But I do like to learn and grow and don’t want to be left behind. But man it feels bad sometimes.

Started up on my Halloween crafting! This year is more about refinement and refreshing existing decor, so I’m starting with totally repainting the gravestones. Kind of hilarious how my software iteration mindset is translating over to my crafting these days.

I don’t think it’s right to act like people vibe coding with AI aren’t achieving some cool things. I also don’t think it’s right to act like engineers skeptical of AI are pissy gatekeepers. Let’s keep some grey in the conversation and be empathetic to both sides. /soap box

Experienced a company layoff for the first time. My role was safe but others, amazing people I really loved working with, were let go. It’s a weird feeling: guilty, grateful, sad, terrified, jittery, and deflated, all at once. I hope tech can get its act together soon, it’s crazy
