Why can't everyone just be happy for Adam Harris, the brother of the finance minister and FG leader, Simon. As a Commissioner (appointed in 2020, aged 25 and recently re-appointed) at the Irish (sic) Human Rights and Equality Commission, he surely deserves all the extra resources coming his way. x.com/nwl88444048/status/197…
Sick of all this begrudgery towards Adam Harris! Having left secondary school in 2013, he started a charity. A tiny charity in the area of autism. In 2016, it had income of €126,000. BUT THEN.....

Dear Mary Lou, Hello. It would be great if you could raise in the Dáil the fact that the government of the day is providing public funding to a sport governing body, the Ladies Football Association, which: Has a policy of male inclusion that denies women and girls fairness, safety, privacy and dignity. Which has consistently refused to address safeguarding concerns raised by members. Which refuses to update its policy despite overwhelming scientific and medical evidence demonstrating that the inclusion of males in the female category cannot be balanced against safety and fairness. Which claims to follow 'international best practice' yet refuses to act despite the International Olympic Committee and numerous other governing bodies restoring fair play to the female category. Which has introduced new rules that will see greater physicality (in an already physical sport) allowed, yet will not acknowledge that this poses an even greater risk to women and girls. Mary Lou, we would love to meet with you and tell you about the experiences of our members - ordinary women who ask only for fairness and safety for themselves, and for for their daughters. The LGFA will not listen to them... will you?
Politics must start with listening. As the Dáil returns, I’ll carry the voices of workers and families into the chamber - your struggles, your experiences and your hopes for the future. So tell me: what needs to change? What do you want raised? I’m here. I’m listening. Let’s build a better future, together.

We need more men to brake cover. We know they want fair sport & safe bathrooms for their daughters, wives & mums. They tell us all the time. Privately. And polls show that too. So please get brave & speak out. Saying biology matters is not bigotry. It’s sensible.
In an age when so many men fail to speak up for women’s rights to single-sex spaces, this 👇 is refreshingly forthright. We’d walk 500 miles (and 500 more) to hear more men speak up! “There’s women, actual women, who are threatened with violence – sometimes get violence – and de-platformed because they have the temerity to say that a woman is an adult human female,” says Craig. “And they are shouted down by 0.5 per cent in a population who are male and who think that because they put on a dress, and they put on make-up, that that makes them a female.” telegraph.co.uk/music/interv…

The stalling of the integration process also has implications for women & girls who are being denied safety, fairness and equality because of @LadiesFootball policy of male inclusion. Last year, ahead of integration, a process overseen by the GAA's Medical, Scientific and Player Welfare Committe to formulate a transgender participation policy covering all three associations commenced, but it now seems highly unlikely it will be finalised any time soon. And so we will once again seek to engage with LGFA management and request a meeting to discuss the urgent safeguarding and fairness concerns its current policy raises. As always, we do so in the interests of player welfare, fair play and the integrity of our sport. #NaMnáAbú
The GAA remains firmly committed to building a single Association that honours the identity, heritage and contribution of each of our sports while creating a stronger and more inclusive future ⬇️ gaa.ie/article/gaa-statement…

Anti science he says from the man who doesn't know what a woman is! Please oh please can some media just allow ordinary joe soaps to debate him on issues cause we would wipe the floor with him. Now he is posting with comments turned off. I wonder why🙄.
I think it's pretty clear what's going to happen now in the US states that follow this executive order - measles outbreaks will continue to rise, autism diagnoses will not go down. It's anti-science experiment on america's children.

Men telling women they aren’t allowed to speak at their festival in case they upset other men who dress up as women. Then the liberal women are set loose to defend these men and the other men who dress as women. The losers? Women. The group they all claim to be defending! 🤔
Just three men in suits claiming “victory” over a women’s rights group whose apparent offence was wanting to host a discussion about women’s sex-based rights. Wonder whether anyone on the picture desk stopped to consider the message this image sends. 🤔

The little girl (then 5, now 8) cannot sleep. She cannot talk. She blinks to communicate. She got to use her voice for all of 3 or 4 years of her life before it was stolen. She cannot articulate a single word of her trauma and therefore heal, at least psychologically. Perhaps he stalks her in her dreams. She is trapped in her own mind. No way to share her worries, memories, dreams or thoughts of any kind. Her tears must be silent too. Her laughter as well. If indeed she laughs any more. She has to be sedated at times. If all this isn't enough for you to say "enough" then I am afraid you are both inhuman and inhumane. She is just a little child. This was done to her because of the government and because of a grown man's minor grievance. A man who never should have been here. A man who still requires an interpreter after 26 years. A man who was reported to have seemed "cheerful" and "jocular" when it was put to him that what he did was gravely serious. He has shown no remorse. The victims and family are subjected to a trial. Not that the child can ever give testimony. 40 mins deprived of oxygen to the brain will produce that effect. Will silence your voice. Potentially forever.

Someone asked where you might save €1bn from the Government’s spending to help cushion fuel inflation (which ultimately will drive food and ESB prices). Here’s four suggestions Cancel the €1bn order with the French for 200 combat vehicles and howitzers. We have perfectly serviceable Mowags. Unless of course we need new vehicles for domestic repression? Veto the “loan” of €90bn (our share €3bn) to Ukraine because it has a large weapons component and we have a Constitution which forbids us from participating in a war unless there’s a Dail vote. We can minus out €1bn for weapons while handing over €2bn for “humanitarian” aid. Bonfire of the NGOs. Let’s play a game of marry-shag-kill, either nationalise the NGO because it is a necessity, modify it so that it is a necessity and nationalise it, or just de-fund it. Stick a €100,000 a year Garda on the Belfast-Dublin train. That will save us €20-30m each week on illegal entry costs. 3066 “arrivals” in the first three months of 2026 will cost us €374m at an average of €122,000 (estimate from Dept of Justice).

"The government waited until the city was asleep to wage war on its own people. By 3 AM, O'Connell Street was flooded with 300 riot police—not to negotiate, but to silence. They have shut down every access point, treating farmers and hauliers like criminals for the 'crime' of asking to afford their livelihoods. The Spokesman’s Response: 'This morning's show of force proves the state is terrified of the truth. They can clear a street at 3 AM, but they can't clear the fact that 600 stations are dry and the people are broken. We offered to facilitate emergency routes; the state responded with batons and blockades of their own. If they think clearing O'Connell Street ends this, they don't understand the West. The engines are off, but the fire is just getting started.' The Current Reality: As of 8:00 AM, the Luas is suspended, the bridges are sealed, and the Army remains on high alert at the depots. The 'graduated response' is over—this is now a total state of enforcement. 🫵🏻🇮🇪 #Day6 #OConnellStreet #IrelandProtest #GardaCrackdown

Suddenly the Gov are concerned about people missing hospital appointments. These are the same people who allowed children to die because their names were covertly taken off waiting lists. The same Government that let #scoliosis curvatures become inoperable. Now they care!

A pallet-sized Tommy Robinson is being blamed by Govt for #fuelprotest, did ye decide not to re-use "sinister fringe" It's an organic protest by people who are the canaries in our fuel shock coalmine, & if these protesters aren't successful, then food & ESB prices will be next.
Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan says fuel protesters are being influenced by external figures, urging them to recognise the impact of their actions. He referenced Tommy Robinson as an example of those seeking to use the protests to advance their own agenda. #VMNews

Dear @MaryLouMcDonald, Hello. We read your comments in today's Sunday Times in which you advocate for the inclusion, on a 'case-by-case' basis, of trans-identifying males in spaces reserved for women, with dismay. Dismay, Mary Lou, because we wrote to you in May last year to bring your attention to the Ladies Gaelic Football Association's policy of including males, on a case-by-case basis, into our sport. We pointed out that the case-by-case model on which the LGFA's policy is based cannot be balanced against safety and fairness for women and girls. That this model was trialled and subsequently abandoned by Irish rugby after reviewing medical and scientific evidence and guidance from World Rugby. That esteemed sports scientists and sports ethics academics have asserted that case-by-case assessment is unlikely to be practical or verifiable for entry into gender-affected sport and therefore undermines the principles of fairness and safety. You didn't respond to our letter; now we know why. You say in the article that 'lived experience matters'. May we tell you about the 'lived experience' of female athletes who have been forced to play Gaelic football against males? Namely, the women (from a senior ladies team which we will not name here) who were forced off the pitch after being injured by male players. Though upset and distressed, these women and their coaches chose not to raise a concern for fear of being labelled 'bigots' and because they had no expectation that the LGFA would listen to them. Then there's the woman who quietly quit the sport she loves after being injured by a male player because she, too, feared stigmatisation and was terrified her employment would be negatively affected if it became known she had raised an objection. And then there are the parents involved in coaching an underage girls' team who stood, helpless, on the sidelines as they watched their daughters struggle to compete against juvenile males with a clear physical advantage. We spoke to one of those parents - a mother - and will never forget the terrible catch in her voice when she told us she felt she had no option but to tell her own daughter, who had come to her in distress during the game, to 'play on regardless' because those male players had been given the right to play by the LGFA and therefore no rules were being broken. 30 parents involved with that team have since signed a letter urging the LGFA to rethink its policy in order that their daughters can be afforded fair and safe sport. They have sent it to the GAA, the LGFA, the Gaelic Players Association and Sport Ireland. These parents have not done this because they wish, as you say in your article, 'to divide, demonise and marginalise'; they have done so because the first duty of a parent is to ensure the safety of their child and they are unable to do so while a situation exists where their child is being exposed to physical and social injury. Because, as you quite rightly say, 'everybody is concerned about children and protecting children'. So, Mary Lou, if you truly mean it when you say you 'reflect on things, and assess things', please take the time to consider the overwhelming medical and scientific evidence available to you. Your @sinnfeinireland colleague Michelle O'Neill, along with others in your party, have already done so and have taken the unequivocal position that including males in female sport undermines fairness and safety for women and girls. Please don't put your personal relationship with your sibling ahead of your duty as a public representative; please act on behalf of those whose best interests you have been sworn to uphold. #savewomensport

Former Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies and sailing pioneer Tracy Edwards have launched a women’s sports union - specifically targeting sports which they say still fail to ensure fairness and safety for women at all levels. It comes after the Supreme Court ruled in April that the definition of a “woman” related to biological sex. But critics say the new union is aiming to exclude trans women at grassroots level altogether, rather than protect women. Sharon and Tracy talk to @susannareid100 and @edballs

The BBC has spat on the face of women several times. Remember, they previously awarded the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award to the Zambian player, Barbra Banda, who had been removed from the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament for ‘gender irregularities’. Defund!

We fought for Harvey at 12 weeks pregnant when we got the diagnosis. We fought for Harvey at 36 weeks pregnant when they suggested withdrawing medical care at birth. We fought for Harvey when we found out he had severe scoliosis and had only been linked to an orthopaedic surgeon that deals with feet. We fought for Harvey when they dismissed my concerns around allergies-later diagnosed as anaphylactic. We fought for Harvey when they tried to provide a buggy instead of a wheelchair. We fought for Harvey when he had delays getting a suitable hospital bed for home. We fought for 5 years to get him a speech device so he could communicate. We fought for him to get scoliosis surgery. We fought for answers when we found out he was removed from the surgical list. Harvey is now gone and we will continue to fight for him, and for the other children and families facing these unnecessary and cruel battles. We fight because Harvey deserved better and we fight because that is what Harvey always did. If government or CHI think we will ever be quiet and just accept what has been allowed happen, they simply haven’t been paying attention. #JusticeForHarvey #NoChildWaiting #StatutoryInquiryNow @CarrollJennifer @SimonHarrisTD @CHI_Ireland @MichealMartinTD @SBH_PAG @scolionetwork @Stephen63224725

**IMPORTANT NOTICE** The Ladies Gaelic Football Association is conducting a comprehensive review of its playing rules ahead of proposed changes that would see the introduction of rules that align with some of the GAA's (men's) rules. Here's the link: forms.office.com/e/dX6EWYf7L… **CLOSES AT 5PM TODAY** (So much for 'comprehensive' - the majority of our members were not sent, or alerted to, the questionnaire). It is our understanding that the LGFA is exploring the possibility of allowing increased physicality in our game. Because of its policy of male inclusion, to do so would severely jeopardise player safety, while proposed playing rules such as the mark, the 'solo and go' and the two-pointer would benefit male players because they can jump higher, move faster and kick further - therefore putting women and girls at a distinct competitive disadvantage. If you are an LGFA member, player, coach, mentor or parent, please take a few minutes to fill in this consultation (responses are confidential). This is an opportunity to put on record your feelings about the LGFA's unfair and unsafe policy of coercing women and girls to play against men and boys, and to demand that it considers the implications for player welfare and the integrity of our game should certain rule changes be introduced. #SaveWomensSports @UlsterLadies @MunsterLGFA @LeinsterLGFA @ConnachtLGFA @AntrimLGFA @ArmaghLGFA @CarlowLGFA @CavanLGFA @Clarelgfa @CorkLGFA @DerryLgfa @DonegalLGFA @DownLGFA @dublinladiesg @FermanaghLGFA @GalwayLgfa @kerryladiesfoot @KildareLGFA1 @kilkennylgfa @LaoisLGFA @LeitrimLGFA @LKLadiesGaelic @LongfordLgfa @LouthLGFA @Mayo_LGFA @meathladiesMLGF @MonaghanLGFA @OffalyLGFA @RoscommonLGFA @SligoLGFA @TippLadiesFB @LgfaTyrone @WaterfordLGFA @WestmeathLadies @secwexlgfa @TheCountessIE @FWSSport @SportSEENuk @Riley_Gaines_ @CarilynJohnson @Martina @sharrond62 @UNSRVAW @WomensSpaceIre @WomensSocIre @FWSSport @fairplaywomen @DerryBanShee @runthinkwrite @ni_wrn

Closing at 5pm! Let the @LadiesFootball know how you feel about their unsafe policy allowing men to play against women!! It is egregious, dangerous and unfair.
