So which story are Michigan voters supposed to believe? Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, is on video saying he carried dual citizenship in the United States and Egypt. And this wasn't something he said as a child. El-Sayed was a grown man serving as Detroit's health director when he stood on a stage in 2016 and said: “I carry dual citizenship.” There's more. An academic résumé from his time at Columbia listed his citizenships as: “USA, Egypt.” But now his campaign says something completely different. A campaign spokeswoman says El-Sayed “is not a dual citizen by any verifiable metric and never has been.” The explanation is that he was told as a child that his grandfather had pursued Egyptian citizenship for him, and when the family later tried to verify it, they couldn't find documentation. But that leaves a pretty big contradiction that deserves an explanation. His résumé said he was a citizen of Egypt. Then, as an adult, El-Sayed himself publicly said he carried dual citizenship. This hoax follows the same pattern as many of the other ridiculous hoaxes that the Democrat Party/MSM have perpetrated on the American people over the past ten years. Fine People. Bloodbath. Anyone who has watched a recent Trump speech knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was not saying that he wants to allow Iran to take out American cities. There is no gray area. A large portion of every speech Trump now makes is about his decision to protect America by preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon. Look at the manipulative language on the voter ID ballot initiative. Keep in mind, 83% of Americans say they want voter ID. It is entirely uncontroversial. This isn’t a direct quote from Trump, and I very much don’t think it’s a correct paraphrase. Trump has repeatedly argued that the consequences of the war, like higher gas prices, are a small price to pay compared to what an unchecked Iran could allegedly do. Last night, in especially rambling and incomplete fashion, he 1) claimed high prices are temporary and suggested they’re “artificial”; 2) contrasted that to the damage of Iran supposedly taking out a city; 3) and then, in especially confusing style, repeated his old point that “this,” as in the consequences of the war, is a small price to pay to avoid something like a a city being wiped out. It’s Trump’s fault you kinda have to be steeped in TrumpRallySpeak to know what he was saying last night, and of course you can say it’s inappropriate regardless for the president to casually float the possibility of a city being wiped out, but the context exists and is important.

The words of an American President weigh a ton. He must not be frivolous with the weight of his office. Donald Trump has gone beyond the pale saying Iran can “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego. How could he say the slaughter of Americans is a "small price to pay"? The American people expect much more of a U.S. President.
