The global liberation of the sacred #cocaleaf is critical to uphold the rights of Indigenous Peoples of the Andean Amazonian region. #Coca has been prohibited for over 50 years based on racist & colonial prejudice. The #WHO has begun an overdue review.

Thank you. Forever grateful for the generosity shown to Colombia.
'Nothing ever happens in Vienna,' they said — but Amb. @Lauraggils proved otherwise.
Breaking taboos, building coalitions & leaning on #CivilSociety, her #DrugPolicyReform leadership shifted the dial.

At the last CND in March 2025, Colombia led a resolution that creates an independent expert panel that will conduct a long-over review of the UN drug control ‘machinery’. Her leadership has been exceptional 🥰

WATCH 👀 My interview w/ the inspiring @Lauraggils Colombia's Ambassador At-Large for Drug Policy. In 2 years, she has shaken up the moribund and fossilised UN drug policy debate!
We wish all the best as she moves to @OAS_official & will miss her greatly.

Naomi Burke-Shyne was a one-of-a-kind leader — smart, open-hearted, and deeply committed. We were lucky to work alongside her and mourn her untimely passing. Our thoughts go out to her family & loved ones.

Hi friends. My cousin's 9 year old daughter is gravely ill with leukemia. The costs for the last line of treatment are extremely high. Please consider donating - any amount is appreciated. A little girl's life hangs in the balance. Thank u for considering

Were you among the 1000s of campaigners organising activities for the 2024 #SupportDontPunish Global Day of Action? 👊💚
The campaign seeks your feedback & insights! Share them by 25 August using through this link: supportdontpunish.org/join/
ALT Over a light brown background, the text: Support. Don't Punish 2024 Global Day of Action. Deadline to submit feedback: 25 August. Your insights nourish our movement. Share them! Help us grow! 222.supportdontpunish.org/join. The Support. Don’t Punish Global Day of Action takes place on 26th June (the UN International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking). Historically, this date has been used by governments to showcase their drug control ‘achievements’ in highly coercive and punitive terms. Since 2013, the campaign’s Global Day of Action has reclaimed and shifted that day’s narrative. Every year, thousands of activists in hundreds of cities worldwide join this unique show of force for sustainable alternatives to the ‘war on drugs’ that place the health and well-being of our communities first!. And the hashtag #SupportDontPunish.

🇺🇳 This year's session of the UN @CND_tweets did not go as usual!
Marked by glaring geopolitical divides, high civil society participation and the 1st resolution votes in decades — our Proceedings report unpicks a historical meeting.

.@Winnie_Byanyima joins the #SupportDontPunish campaign, calling for a rights-based approach to drug policy.
Criminalization of drug use discourages uptake of HIV services, drive users underground & lead to unsafe practices. Decriminalization saves lives.
#WorldDrugDay
On today's #WorldDrugDay, we must remember: a human rights-based approach to drug policy is how we protect people's health & save lives.
To help #endAIDS, leaders need to move away from punitive approaches to people who use drugs.
