Crypto: The Digital Wild West
I called crypto the “Digital Wild West” in my last post and the more I thought about it, the more accurate it felt.
Think about it.
The Wild West had prospectors chasing gold, boom towns appearing out of nowhere, outlaws, robberies, snake-oil salesmen and thousands of people willing to risk everything because they’d heard someone, somewhere, had struck gold.
Crypto has pretty much the same cast of characters.
We’ve got degens searching for the next 100x. New narratives become boom towns overnight. Scammers and rug pullers are our outlaws. KOLs stand on the side of the road selling maps to where the next pile of gold supposedly is.
We even kept the fucking miners.
But there’s another part of the Gold Rush I’ve always found interesting.
Some of the biggest winners weren’t the people digging for gold. They were the people selling the tools, supplies and services to everyone convinced they were about to find it.
Sound familiar?
Exchanges. Trading platforms. Launchpads. Market makers. Infrastructure. An entire industry built around millions of us turning up every morning with our digital pickaxes convinced today might finally be the day.
And every so often, a new gold rush begins.
A new coin. A new community. A new group of slightly insane people convinced they’ve found something before everyone else has.
That’s why I’m invested so deeply in chump-coin:native .
I’ve already told you I own it. I’m heavily invested and extremely bullish, so take that for exactly what it is. I’m not standing here pretending I’ve got some magical treasure map.
Maybe we’ve found gold.
Time will tell.
But that uncertainty is exactly why, despite all the scams, manipulation, greed and absolute fucking nonsense, I still love this place.
Because underneath all the bullshit, there’s still that feeling:
Somewhere out there, there’s gold.
And like every other degen in this digital Wild West...
I’m still digging.
Sincerely,
Another
