One music scholar read Atlantis as music, not a geographical place. Plato's ten kings become ten tones. In that reading, Atlantis doesn't sink. It detunes. Does Atlantis belong on a map, or in the mind?

Atlantis was located at the #TripleJunction. Atlantis sank into a #TectonicSinkhole 11.6k yrs ago. Atlantis is now the Azores Plateau.

Plato does not speak in abstract terms; he provides an incredibly detailed, vivid, and highly specific description of a physical location. In his dialogues Timaeus and Critias, he gives explicit geographical and architectural coordinates:

Esoteric traditions do not speak in abstract terms but they do speak in layers. To Freemasons, the rough ashlar symbolizes man; to alchemists, gold represents spiritual perfection; to Pythagoreans, harmony carries deeper meaning where sinking would be detuning. Plato, influenced by Pythagorean thought, wrote of Atlantis in a tradition where the initiated and uninitiated could interpret the same words very differently.

Atlantis is the machinery of your mind. The man behind the curtain isn't.

Earth and Fire – Atlantis (1973): This classic progressive rock concept album features a sprawling 16-minute title suite. Lots of Atlantis themed prog rock.

Apply the same logic to the flat earth and you get a description of the mind.

Atlantis is right before our eyes; we just need to focus on the signs and clues, just like in *The Alchemist*.
