πͺπΊJUST IN: EU banking regulator wants DeFi lending protocols CERTIFIED and crypto lending brought under MiCA.
The European Banking Authority says crypto lending is already active in at least 16 EU countries, with licensed platforms and AI tools making DeFi easier to access through licensed platforms.
It proposes suitability tests, leverage limits and extra risk warnings for users.
It also floats banning licensed firms from offering lending involving stablecoins that lack MiCA approval.
The recommendations are advice to the Commission's MiCA review and don't change any rules yet.
