Nigerians, do not mind Dr Abati. Make sure you set up your own parallel INEC and situation rooms on election day. It is not a crime to have your own; the only crime is when you declare the final results. Nigerians, do not be fooled for the second time. — Rufai Oseni, after a heated in-studio exchange on Arise this morning about having a parallel INEC.

Building a Better Nigeria Through Service. Yesterday in Lagos, I attended a dinner organised for Lagos NDC candidates and hosted by the Lagos Obidient Movement. I used the occasion to remind the candidates that seeking public office is not about titles, positions, or the privileges associated with them. It is about accepting the responsibility to serve and committing ourselves to building a better Nigeria. Having witnessed the suffering and hardship that our people continue to endure, we must remain conscious of the tremendous responsibility placed in our hands. Nigerians deserve leaders who are accessible, actively engaged, accountable, and willing to lead by example. Our politics must establish a standard for others to follow. It must therefore be founded on competence, character, capacity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the common good. A better Nigeria is within reach, but achieving it requires leaders who are prepared to lead by example and remain accessible. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

They are now arguing that Azumini proposed seaport cannot handle 5000 tons ship. This is how they spread ignorance to kill Igbo projects. Let's educate them with FACTS: 1. Azumini is NOT a river gutter, it's 19 nautical miles to the Atlantic. The Azumini Blue River joins Imo River which flows 240km directly into the Atlantic through Akwa Ibom. The corridor is just 35km to the sea. With dredging, it becomes a channel — same way Onne and Port Harcourt were dredged. 2. 5000 tons is SMALL even barges carry it. Do you know that ordinary river barges in Nigeria already carry 2000-8000 tons daily on the Niger? Calabar Port currently with only 9.5m draft handles 15,000-20,000 ton vessels. So anyone saying Azumini cannot handle 5000 tons doesn't know shipping. The plan is: Dredge to 10-12m depth like Calabar Use feeder vessels and barges to connect to Ibom Deep Sea Port and Onne Cargo moves from big ocean ships at Ibom/Onne to Azumini via barges, that is how 80% of ports work in the world (Rotterdam, Antwerp model). 3. The purpose is NOT to compete with Lekki, but to serve Aba. Aba needs raw materials IN and finished goods OUT. If Azumini handles even 5000-10,000 ton vessels, logistics cost for Aba manufacturers drops by 40-60%. That is the goal not bragging about big ships. 4. They said Onne cannot work, today Onne is Nigeria's most modern port. They said Ibom Deep Sea Port cannot work, construction has started. They always say Igbo projects cannot work. They want us to keep going to Lagos to clear goods and then pay N1.8m per truck to bring it to Onitsha. That suffering is their business. Azumini will work. The feasibility study will prove the dredging requirement, the draft, the cost and the design. Stop listening to people who have never built a jetty arguing about tonnage. If only those still supporting this evil party called the APC knew how much their lives have diminished since it came to power, they would realize they’re not defending their oppressors they’re defending their own suffering.
I made a video about what Seyi's father and the APC have done to Nigeria

The brains on these guys! Why would anyone abandon Canada's functional education system just to return to Nigeria and endure endless ASUU strikes? This is what happens when you put incompetent people in charge of an important institution like JAMB.
For Nigerians in Canada, the UTME is coming closer to home. 🇳🇬🇨🇦 JAMB is working towards establishing a UTME centre in Ottawa, Canada, expected to commence operations in 2027. The proposed centre will make it easier for eligible Nigerians in Canada and across North America to sit for the UTME without travelling to Nigeria solely for the examination. It also represents a bigger opportunity to strengthen the connection between Nigerians in the diaspora and Nigerian tertiary education. More access. Fewer barriers. Closer to home. #JAMB #UTME2027 #NigeriaInCanada #JAMBUpdates #TheTrustWeHold #ThePeopleWeServe

At 32 I was editing Papa Ajasco and Super Story, trying to become a director. One night officers who had been drinking shot me through my car. I am 47 now. The hand is dead. I edit with my left hand for $10 and $20 so my children can eat. I won in court. The police have ignored the judgment since 2015. The officer’s name is in their own report. Ayuba Philip ID 257745. Abduction of 20 Youth Corps Members: Insecurity Must Not Be a Norm The abduction of approximately 20 prospective NYSC members travelling to their orientation camp is yet another distressing indication of the worsening insecurity in our country. These young Nigerians were preparing to serve their nation, but they were unable to travel safely on our roads. Families are increasingly burdened by the fear that their loved ones could fall victim to kidnapping. Protecting lives and property is the government’s foremost responsibility. We cannot continue to regard insecurity as an ordinary occurrence or act only after people’s lives have been disrupted. I call for the immediate and safe rescue of all the abducted corps members and the arrest of those responsible. Nigeria must become a country where young people can travel, work, and serve their nation without fear. -PO

Independence Is Meaningless Without Real Freedom As we continue to reflect on Nigeria’s Independence, we must remember that independence means very little if citizens cannot freely express themselves, within the bounds of the law, without fear. Reports that some Nigerians in Akwa Ibom were arrested simply for identifying with the Obidient Movement should worry every Nigerian who believes in democracy and freedom, especially when such identification is a constitutional right. One of the greatest tragedies of our society is that people who once described themselves as freedom fighters can become defenders of oppression when they eventually occupy positions of authority. Those who once complained about injustice can become comfortable with injustice when it is being perpetrated against people they disagree with. That must not be the Nigeria we accept. Our independence must ultimately mean freedom from fear, injustice, intolerance and abuse of power. Nigeria must belong to all of us. -PO

Nigeria at 66: Looking Back, Looking Forward Fellow Nigerians, Today we mark the sixty-sixth anniversary of our independence. It ought to be a day of celebration and thanksgiving to God Almighty for the gift of life and for the immense blessings He has bestowed on our nation—our diversity, our abundant human and natural resources, our vast agricultural potential, and the relative absence of devastating natural disasters. It should also be a day of appreciation and patriotism: a day to remember our founding fathers and all those who made selfless, and in many cases supreme, sacrifices for the birth, survival and growth of our dear nation. We must acknowledge the efforts of past and present leaders who have laboured, however imperfectly, to build a better Nigeria. Yet independence anniversaries must never be reduced to mere celebration. They are moments for honest national reflection. We must look back, examine where we stand today, and ask ourselves whether we are moving in the direction our founding fathers envisioned. In national planning and strategy, every serious nation must continually ask three fundamental questions: Where are we today? Where do we want to be? How do we get from where we are to where we want to be? These questions are especially urgent now. Despite the enormous promises made by the APC-led government in 2023, our nation continues to face deepening challenges across virtually every critical sector of national life. Today we stand before the world as a nation: With an extraordinarily large population living in poverty and severe hardship; over 140M With one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world; over 18M Where insecurity, terrorism, banditry and kidnapping continue to threaten lives and livelihoods, just recently 37 young Nigerians in their productive age lost their lives Where millions of Nigerians struggle with hunger and food insecurity; over 40M Nigerians will be in extreme hunger by the end of 2026. With unacceptably high rates of infant and maternal mortality; Nigeria today is the worst place to be born. Where youth unemployment and underemployment remain alarmingly high; over 35M Where drug abuse and substance misuse increasingly threaten our young population; today 14% as against global average of 6% Where life expectancy remains among the lowest globally, today 54 years against global average of 74 years And the list goes on. This reality demands serious, sober and honest reflection. Socrates taught that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” By the same principle, an unexamined nation cannot successfully chart its future. We must therefore ask ourselves: Are we cursed, or have we become the curse through the choices we have made and the failures we have tolerated? The answer cannot be that Nigeria is cursed. We are a nation immensely endowed and blessed. Our greatest problem is not a lack of resources; it is the failure to convert our enormous resources into human development, productivity, security and shared prosperity. Only yesterday, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and I returned from a two-day visit to Sokoto State. We held extensive consultations with people from different parts of the state on insecurity, out-of-school children, poverty, youth unemployment, drug abuse and other challenges confronting our people. In concluding the visit, we went to the Internally Displaced Persons camp at Ramin Kura within Sokoto metropolis. What we saw was deeply troubling. Thousands of women and children live in deplorable conditions, displaced from their homes and deprived of the basic necessities of life. Many of the children have no access to education. Mothers and children have limited access to basic healthcare. These are Nigerians who should be living in their communities, going to school, farming their land, conducting their businesses and contributing to the economy. Instead, they live as displaced persons in their own country.

"The decisive ally to both of the clubs was the man whose job should have committed him to complete neutrality: UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino. The Football Leaks documents show just how unconscionably the top functionary sided with the newly wealthy clubs, both of which didn't just violate the Financial Fair Play rules. They held them in contempt. During the FFP proceedings, Infantino met with club bosses from Paris and Manchester on several occasions for secret talks, even supplying them with confidential materials. He proposed compromises that he was unauthorized to propose. In short: He betrayed his own organization." spiegel.de/international/wor…
