Tom Cruise wasn't even supposed to be in Digger - He just wandered onto set one day doing an impression of a Texan oil tycoon and they loved it so much that they hired him on the spot. Movie wasn't even about that character, it was created for Tom and they rewrote it for him!

the tragedy of Digger is that it's such a perfect encapsulation of planet Earth in 2026 and deserves to win Best Picture because it nails the nihilism of today & how much people don't care about media and people are doing what the movie is warning us about.

DIGGER is no way anti-Art, it’s just saying that we place a heightened importance on a really self-serving kind of art that lets us laugh off real damage.
Can that art be good art and/or entertaining. Sure, but it is JUST entertainment and the real work needs to be done.
