The Church came before the Bible. The Church wrote, compiled, and preserved the Bible.
The Church didn’t happen to the Bible. The Bible happened to the Church.

Spent all night raising money for my parish. Up early today to work off some temporal punishment due to my sins by spending the next several hours doing manual labor at the monastery. Penance+Charity+Reparation. Give yourself as a gift to the Church & to others!

Why did God punish the blessed man of Romans whose sins were not imputed to him?

Some people, when cornered by Scripture, instead of changing their mind to believe what it says, respond, “I’m going to go with what so-and-so Church Father said instead.” Choosing uninspired writings over inspired Scripture. Crazy.

Sola Scriptura is unbiblical, and leads only to chaos and division. As evidenced by 500 years of multiplying denominations, bred from church splits based on one man or woman’s private interpretation of the Bible. 👇

Ryan casually showing us once again that to be a modern Protestant, you have to believe that Christians for 2,000 years, including Christians who knew the Apostles themselves, were wrong about Scripture and the faith. But you, a 21st-century Christian with a Bible and a private interpretation, finally got it right. Amazing.

On the Cross, Jesus cried: "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" And they said: "This man is calling Elijah." If calling upon the "dead" was completely foreign to the Jews, why did they understand Jesus’ words as calling upon Elijah a dead man for help? Matthew 27:46–47.
Roman Catholics - We follow the apostolic traditions! Me - Can you name one Apostolic Father that prayed to the dead? Roman Catholic - No! We didn’t start our traditions until 500 AD

Ryan, we only obey because the grace of God first enables us to obey. Grace is not merely the reason we should obey; grace is what makes our obedience possible in the first place. So if you’re treating obedience as something man contributes after receiving grace, who is really putting confidence in man rather than God?
Being saved by grace gives us more reason to obey, not less.

The Catholic Church has never claimed you’re “INCAPABLE of interpreting Scripture”. The Catholic Church has merely pointed out that you keep doing it wrong.

In this video @needGod_net says that we do not need love to be saved. Saint Paul says the opposite, “if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Cor 13:2

This comment reflects an awful lot of the interactions I get from low church Protestants on X, who think their ignorant opinion of the Bible is authoritative.
