Giving instructions behind the stamps is every wicket keepers job as they see things better after umpire, and not only dhoni every experienced wicket keepers helps bowlers and fielders, they always give instructions and 3/10 maybe clicked, but becz of that you can't keep anyone.

Every wicket keeper does (and must do) that because they get a very clear view of how the players shuffles & reacts to the delivery. That is what makes a keepers place crucial. Though, Dhoni is very good & precise at these judgments which is his merit & is appreciable.

Pretty sure you can find clips of every wk giving instructions to bowlers. And a player can't stay in the team forever just because he offers tips to younger bowlers. Dhoni dropped senior players as a captain when they weren't upto the mark, and now he deserved to be dropped.
