A valuable exchange with H.E. Ms. Rabab Fatima @USGRabab_UN following her appointment as Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Head of UNAMA. I extended my congratulations on her new responsibilities and discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan, as well as the vital role of the United Nations in supporting peace, stability and the aspirations of the Afghan people.

Had a productive meeting with Mr. Amandeep Gill @gioasempre, Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy for Digital and Emerging Technologies. We exchanged views on the rapidly evolving digital landscape, including developments in artificial intelligence, and discussed the important role of the United Nations in advancing inclusive and effective international cooperation on emerging technologies.

Pleased to welcome H.E. Ms. Irene Zubaida Khan @Irenekhan, the new Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations @BangladeshUN1, and to wish her every success in her new assignment.
