You all went ahead and insulted the journalist simply because she asked the Abia State governor if he supports President Tinubu’s reelection. You people are really terrible. So no one in this country can do their job or express an opinion without being attacked by the online bullying group called Obidients? This is not right, for God’s sake.

It’s honestly laughable to read some of you threaten to unfollow someone on social media simply because their opinion differs from yours. That is an immature mindset. Go ahead and unfollow or even block me. Hallelujah. It won’t cost me a single cent.

You all have nothing on me with which to blackmail me, that is what you all do best. I am an independent Nigerian who enjoys the freedom of speech, especially the right to criticise those in office and those aspiring to it. This is my constitutional right. One thing you can all rest assured of. I will never engage any of you with the same level of insults or one-sided opinions.

All you colony of ants 🐜 seem to know how to do, instead of meaningful engagement, is throw insults and make defamatory accusations. This is a cancer among you all that needs to be cured. I have never insulted Mr. Peter Obi, and I never will.

Peter Obi should prioritise winning strategies by aligning closely with grassroots structures and holding regular, substantive meetings with them. He should also cultivate constructive political relationships with state governors and other key political actors across the states. Popularity alone is insufficient to win elections or protect votes at the grassroots level.

Most of you have already concluded that I hate Peter Obi and that I’m demarketing him. That is fine, it is your opinion. I deliberately stayed silent on his ongoing political rifts with the Anambra State governor because I thought Peter Obi might have finally changed strategy and stopped responding to every allegation. Apparently, this remains his preferred style of campaigning. Until Peter Obi understands that the era of bringing a kitchen knife to a gunfight is over, and that this approach is a serious miscalculation, he will remain exactly where he is.

It is established that Peter Obi’s government did not receive the full drawn-down loan or spend the funds. According to documents released by the Anambra State Government, the complete loan was fully disbursed only after he left office. In law, there is a fundamental distinction between being an eyewitness to a crime and being an accessory to that crime.

Let’s assume, for the sake of argument, that it was the Federal Government that borrowed the loan on behalf of the Anambra State Government, which already sounds highly awkward. As a sitting governor, you are fully aware of the state’s financial strength.

It is clear that this group of people fails to understand how governance works. When a state government borrows money, it is completely different from a father taking a loan for the family business. Peter Obi is wrong to claim that the Federal Government borrowed the money for the state. The Federal Government cannot do so without the consent of the sitting state governor, who has the constitutional right to decline such a loan.

This statement is factually false. Borrowing money from a bank creates a debt, a legal obligation to repay. The moment the loan is disbursed and accepted, regardless of whether you spend the funds. Receiving a paycheck and not spending it does not mean you were never paid. Taking delivery of goods under an unpaid invoice and leaving them unused does not cancel the payable. Going to the bank, borrowing, and receiving the money creates debt. Leaving the money unspent does not change that legal and financial reality. 🙄

Observing the body language of some of the so-called 19 presidential candidates leads me to conclude that President Tinubu @officialABAT will seek a third term if the constitution and his health permit it, although the Nigerian constitution is very clear on the two-term limit. As things stand today, only His Excellency @atiku Abubakar is a genuine opposition figure and real contender. Atiku is contesting and throwing everything into the fight to win, while the others are merely entertaining Nigerians. Well, that is their role, to entertain us.

My remaining in the APC should not be mistaken for aligning myself with the government in power. I do see greater possibilities for constructive engagement from within, and remaining in the party preserves the opportunity for that engagement. At the same time, I am yet to see a credible alternative that persuades me to take a different political path. But neither party membership nor access to government can become an end in itself. For me, there is a clear condition for becoming truly part of any government: I must retain the freedom to remain truthful to my conscience and to subordinate every political allegiance to God first. It was such an honour to serve as Guest Speaker at the 10th African FutureTrust Model United Nations (TAFMUN) Conference, held at the ECOWAS Secretariat, Abuja, today. The theme, “Empowering Futures,” resonated deeply with my message, “The Leader Before the Title.” Because empowering the future must begin with forming the people who will shape it. My message was simple: before we aspire to positions of influence, we must first form the person who will carry that influence. Competence matters. Character matters. Courage matters. Alignment matters. And ultimately, leadership must be about service. I congratulate all the delegates representing 111 countries, including my son, Mario, who represented the United States of America. It was inspiring to see young people engaging global issues, challenging assumptions, negotiating differences and preparing themselves not merely to become leaders, but nation-builders and global problem-solvers. More importantly, I congratulate my dear sister, Dr. Mrs. Maureen Ifeyinwa Egbuche, the Convener, for sustaining this very impactful initiative over the years. If we truly want to empower futures, we must begin by forming better leaders today. The future is not built when the titles arrive. It is built in the formation that happens before the titles. Congratulations to TAFMUN at 10, and to all the young people preparing to build the future.

The strategy employed by Honourable FCT Minister @GovWike in 2023 proved highly effective and faced little serious challenge at the time. A more refined and firmly consolidated version of that same approach is already being actively pursued with a view to securing victory in 2027. Meanwhile, some social media users who have chosen to overlook this reality continue to hurl insults at every analysis/opinion that points to the same misstep their preferred candidate made in 2023, an error he appears poised to repeat deliberately.

I urge members of the Nigerian National Assembly, Green & Red Chamber @NigeriaSenate to summon the courage to advance and pass the social media regulation bill. Social media has regrettably become a platform where unscrupulous individuals freely insult and defame others simply for expressing their opinions. Far too many poorly informed and antisocial users hide behind anonymous or fake accounts to launch personal attacks. It is essential that every social media user be required to register and operate their accounts with a valid government-issued identification. No one should be permitted to defame others under the guise of political disagreement.
