What the hell is FROST? β€’ Multisig-style security, NO config file needed! β€’ Looks like (and is) single-sig on-chain β€’ Easiest distributed setup I've seen New video on @SOVsessions w/ @FrostsnapTech: youtu.be/ufT5a2NsADY

Not a sponsor, I literally do videos on every piece of hardware that exists. It's kind of the same thing I've been doing for ten years.

I haven't seen this functionality of splitting a key across multiple signers, allowing to sign a transaction with each keyshare. The closest thing to this I've seen is shamir with Trezor, but that's just for backups. Is there something else that I'm unaware of?

Any plans on doing a guide on a ms bitcoin core wallet using a linux laptop. Being the first to make a complete video guide would be awesome.

Yes, just need to get my hands on a cheap laptop now that I'm home. LMK if you have suggestions on what you'd like to see covered for that video.

Distributed signing is solid. Still want the ping if those coins ever move without you. Canary runs watch-only on your own node (@umbrel , @start9labs , @mynodebtc) β€” descriptor stays put, ntfy on movement.

Great one. I would also recommend doing @RyderWallet sessions.

Pro tip: not that it really matters but you can sign several devices at once instead of one at a time :) just put a finger on each one

great video one thing about the pin: it's really not needed on a device, as your phone (or laptop) having the decryption key already has a "pin"

Multi-sig and single-sig have their own trade offs. Must watch to see how Frost went about building this setup

The UX win is making threshold signing feel like a normal wallet flow without putting one complete key in one place. Bitcoin & Satoshi β€” non-custodial wallet, coming soon.

FROST keeps the threshold off-chain, so if a participant drops, recovery runs through the remaining key shares plus the coordinator config. That puts the weight on your share backups and setup records, which are easy to under-document on a distributed signer.
