United Healthcare just dropped ALL Advent Health service providers/hospitals from their insurance coverage. Yes, ALL. This is particularly alarming for my friends in central Florida. Advent owns a significant portion of hospitals and providers in that area.

As a community organizer and leader, I believe that one of the greatest responsibilities we have is to remain engaged in the decisions that shape our communities and our future. This upcoming election is about more than political parties, campaign slogans, or the names on a ballot. It’s about our families, our neighborhoods, our children’s education, access to affordable healthcare, economic opportunity, public safety, and the quality of life we all deserve. To all my supporters, I know the outcome of the Primary was not what we wanted, however for the good of Florida, I asked that you support the Democratic nominee for Florida District 21, James Martin. The people we elect will make decisions that directly affect our everyday lives. That’s why it’s important to look beyond political rhetoric, examine candidates’ records, ask difficult questions, and understand where they stand on the issues that matter most to us. Representation should come with accountability. Our elected officials work for the people, and we have every right to expect transparency, accessibility, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving the communities they represent. I encourage everyone to become informed, get involved, have conversations with their neighbors, and exercise their right to vote. Don’t allow anyone else to decide your future without making your own voice heard. Today Friday, September 25th, Equal Ground will bring together elected officials, faith leaders, and community members for a press conference to sound the alarm on the direct impacts of Amendment 3 on Floridians and join the Save Our Services, No on 3 coalition. I’m thankful for the opportunity to speak at this event today. With Floridians reeling from an affordability crisis, struggling with rising housing, insurance, grocery, and utility costs, Amendment 3 would threaten essential services Florida’s communities rely on every day, deepening the burden on families already stretched thin. Fire and emergency response, roads, libraries, parks, health services, and hurricane preparedness would all see their funding from local revenue reduced.

Priscilla Williams-Till has launched her campaign for U.S. Senate in Mississippi, running to unseat Cindy Hyde-Smith — the same senator who once joked about sitting "on the front row" of a public hanging. Here's what actually happened to her cousin: In August 1955, 14-year-old Emmett Till traveled from Chicago to visit family in Money, Mississippi. Days after an encounter with a white woman at a local store, two men dragged him from his uncle's home in the middle of the night. They beat him beyond recognition, shot him, and threw his body into the Tallahatchie River with a cotton gin fan tied around his neck with barbed wire to weigh it down. His mother, Mamie Till, made a decision that changed the country: she insisted on an open casket funeral, "so all the world can see what they did to my boy." Tens of thousands filed past to see it. Photos ran in Jet magazine. His killers were acquitted by an all-white jury in under an hour. Months later, protected by double jeopardy, they sold their confession to a magazine for money. 🇺🇸 United We Remember 🇺🇸 This day was about more than 3.43 miles. Firefighters, first responders, families and community members came together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor those who answered the call and stand together 25 years later. The 3.43-mile distance carries a special meaning, honoring the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. Along the route, neighbors waved, drivers honked and volunteers cheered participants on every step of the way.

The allegations against Palm Beach County Clerk Mike Caruso are extraordinarily serious. Caruso was arrested on five felony charges, including kidnapping, lewd or lascivious molestation, lewd or lascivious exhibition, luring or enticing a child, and child abuse causing mental injury. These are allegations, and Caruso is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence. However, it is extremely disappointing to see that my current congressman, Brian Mast, still chose to participate in this event. Somethings are above partisan politics. All money ain’t good money.

Reports of an Oct. 1 nationwide trucker strike remain unconfirmed, but the crisis behind them is real. Soaring diesel prices are hurting truckers, small businesses and working families. Our leaders must act now to stabilize fuel costs and protect our supply chain.
