Good morning friends!
Here's my thing:
Be proud of who you are. Be black. Be White. Fuck, be Hindu for all I care. Love your culture. Love your heritage. Love your people. Support them. Cheer for them.
But the instant you start demanding that others start catering to your peccadilloes, your fetishes, your weaknesses, your wants, you've crossed a line. Once you insist that your culture is more important, more relevant, more worthy of support at the expense of all the others, you done fucked up.
You're more than welcome to celebrate your culture and heritage in any way you see fit.
You are NOT welcome to foist said culture and heritage on everyone else.
And, like it or not, America is not a "diverse" country. We are not a "melting pot", except in the sense that all the peoples that settled and forged this great nation assimilated to an extent that their cultures and individual heritage were subsumed by a new culture and heritage they created: American culture. American heritage.
I loathe and despise anyone who demands that culture and heritage change, as it's my culture and heritage. You're welcome to yours. You are not welcome to, or in, mine with that attitude.
If you want to come here -- hell, if you want to be born and raised here -- you must accept, adopt, and fully embrace American culture and heritage. You have no right and no grounds to insist and demand OUR culture and heritage change to make YOU happy.
You want to live here? Cool. Do so quietly, as an American. Not a hyphen-American, an American. Love what this country is and has. Don't systematically work to change and mold that into something more appealing to yourself.
If you do? You're my enemy.
