Imagine you have $1.00. Then the money supply goes up. More money chasing the same goods. The costs of good and services go up. Now your $1.00 has less purchasing power. Welcome to inflation.

We are living in an inflationary regime. During inflationary periods, hard assets tend to outperform. It won't be a straight line though. Expect plenty of volatility along the way.

Every argument about gold, hard money, and Bitcoin traces back to this one chart. M2 pauses now and then, it never really reverses. You do not have to be a goldbug or a crypto bull to notice the denominator keeps growing. That is just the water everyone is swimming in.

Not automatically a bad thing, but it can slowly eat into purchasing power. 🤔

History reminds us that every liquidity cycle creates both opportunities and challenges. Staying disciplined, managing risk, and thinking beyond short-term market movements are what separate investors from speculators.

Longer term, it reinforces the structural debasement story. The dollar is losing purchasing power over time, which is exactly why many people view Bitcoin as a hedge

More money supply means $ is losing value. More $ will be required to purchase the same amount of goods.

That's exactly why the USD purchasing power looks like this vs the $SPX since we left the gold standard:

And $BTC is going down, how is it possible? Where are all the macro guys who were so convinced Bitcoin prices were fully linked to M2 Money Supply?

If you put money into the S&P in 2000 now you would be back to square one. Booming markets are an inflationary illusion as this S&P vs M2 chart shows.

Real M2 Money Supply growth over last 10 years is +2.6% CAGR which includes the step change of Covid. Real M2 is +1.4% YoY as of now. So, everyone calm down. It was a lot worse last decade plus during the time of Covid. We are actually starting to get our house in order.

$23T M2 ATH means more dollars chasing the same finite BTC supply - the debasement thesis just got more data behind it. Historically M2 expansion lags into risk assets with a delay

23 trillion and nobody feels rich. that's the whole story.

Exceeding $23 Trillion in M2 money supply explains exactly why hard assets and limited supply ecosystems are in a structural bull market. The structural degradation of fiat purchasing power is the ultimate fuel for this macro regime. Great visualization!
