the funniest part is the man ran it in a mode literally called bypass permissions, and the official response is "hey that sucks" lol
Replying to @PerceptualPeak
Hey that sucks. This is the reason why we recommend (and default to) auto mode for permissions. It almost certainly would have caught this, is there a reason you aren’t using it? claude.com/resources/article…

honestly i'd go one step further, don't run agents on your laptop at all. give them their own box, a mini pc at home or a server you actually own, not a vps from some other company. they can hammer the file system all night, they can't touch your stuff, and nobody else is holding the machine
Reminder that I don't think you should run agents on a Mac unless you absolutely have to. It will slow you down massively and is not worth it.

the whole reason I care about open weights is you download the file and nobody can change it under you, and this week the two big open launches both shipped a "later this month" instead of a file, so I guess open weights has release windows now, like movies

Mistral Large 4 says weights by the end of the month and it's API only until then mistral.ai/news/mistral-larg… and Reflection Beam says later this month with a waitlist for now reflection.ai/blog/introduci… and also Mistral very officially named theirs le Chonk, so honestly, respect

Yeah getting famous for it is funny, but I run a lot of my work on md files and they really help organize how the thinking goes step by step, and good engineers always had this in their heads or in a runbook, the file just hands that process to whoever is newer to it
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that people get famous for writing markdown files, calling them engineering skills and putting them on GitHub 🤣

there are now websites forecasting if Codex resets my usage today, like the weather, 45% chance in the next 24 hours, 70% in 48, and you can press a button to pray for a reset, which, I mean, it does come with a disclaimer that prayers do not control OpenAI
Over the next 28 days, each day we’ll either ship one thing that is a clear improvement and relevant for most codex/work users or ship a full reset. Let the improvements begin.

I read a lot of @arxiv and the amount of AI written papers there is getting crazy, so honestly not mad they just capped it at 2 submissions a month per submitter

On Tuesday the US government upgraded AI to Super Intelligence by executive order No weights changed. That's gotta be the cheapest capability jump in history

And California signed its own order to keep calling it AI. So now the same autocomplete has a regional dialect

Sick of bad hires? Hiring was one of the biggest challenges I faced in scaling up my startups. It can make or break your company. After making some mis-hires early on, I developed a structured hiring process that has served me well. Here are some key elements:

✅ Reference Checks I speak to 2-3 references to confirm strengths and look for any red flags. I ask about tangible examples of work, not just general impressions.
