This is true of AIPAC’s entire political strategy over the last 2-3 cycles….and yet they keep doing it because they don’t know how to do anything else
Explain to me the AIPAC/Mr. Stevens endgame here? If Rogers wins and is god forbid the 49/50th vote for ICE camps & who knows what else they will be blamed! It will reduce their power in the Dem party even more. If Abdul wins anyway (which I expect) then they reveal themselves to be whining losers w no influence. It’s just one big temper tantrum that is serving to undermine their stated goals. Crazy.

The degree of raging, brazen Islamophobia in the Michigan Senate campaign outstrips any anti-Semitism there by orders of magnitude. People can try to both-sides this—and, in particular, they may try to pretend otherwise by magnifying the anti-Semitism they see in the guise of opposing it—but the evidence is clear, and deeply disturbing. If you support Rogers, you’re supporting rabid bigotry—not just in Michigan, but in the White House.

The logical endpoint of Haley Stevens' politics.
Representative Haley Stevens is a courageous leader who deserves the respect of every Michigan voter. She has conducted herself with nothing but class since the Democratic primary, a primary where a majority of voters did not vote for her party’s nominee. She was absolutely right to call on Abdul El-Sayed to denounce the Rebellion PAC ad and she was right to call on him to apologize for espousing the same hateful ideology behind it. Representative Stevens’ statement expressed a hope that Abdul El-Sayed “had heard the deep concerns of the Jewish Community.” It is as shameful as it is disappointing that his response to her clearly shows that he does not care about those concerns.  In her statement, the Congresswoman says, “ the Jewish and African-American communities of my district deserve to have someone show up for them, rather than fight over them.” I agree with her and my campaign is about being there, showing up and defending these communities and all Michiganders.

I don't know what the fuck is going on here but if you supported Stevens and you don't want to be associated with one of the most disgraceful, bigoted ratfucking attempts in recent political history I encourage you to let her know that this must stop immediately
On the eve of the eve of the eve of our BIG and important election, a unifying moment has arrived, our democratic nominee for U.S Senate disavows the Rebellion PAC ad made by Hasan Piker’s uncle that claims Jews are responsible for America’s economic woes. We have learned from party leaders and emissaries, as reported in the news media that he has. On Sunday I will join with the Great Democratic leader, Jim Clyburn and Dr El Sayed for a church service in the beautiful city of Detroit. The political coalition of Black and Jewish voices that have carried Michigan and this country through so many storms to the righteous path of liberal democracy and equal opportunity for all will ring out. If I was actually trying to harm Abdul's campaign, it would look a lot like the PR roll out we've seen from Haley that started with CNN, then her husband's bizarre tirade, and now this crazy, hyper online, conspiratorial statement about a TV ad Abdul obviously hates!

This kind of “support” is far, far worse than doing/saying nothing at all

The ADL hasn’t responded to either of these incidents, but don’t worry - they HAVE harshly condemned Zohran Mamdani for describing Marc Chagall as “Eastern European”
Are we going to ask Rogers to disavow the president calling Jews crazy if they don't vote for him and Moreno implying you need to believe in Jesus to hold public office or

You’re saying the ultra-right demagogue lied about voter fraud….and somehow you didn’t expect that?
I’m deleting my tweets about the allegations of Qatar buying Arab votes in Israel. This report looks like a Bibi head fake. If it turns out to have credibility, I’ll revisit.

The Anti-Defamation League has yet to condemn or even mention Moreno’s bigoted, un-American remarks. If you’re looking for an organization of experts with sound advice on how to truly protect Jewish, Muslim and all other Americans from such hatred, get to know the Nexus Project.
This Islamophobic attack is a direct shot at our constitution and its clear statement that “no religious test shall ever be required” to serve. It outrageously discriminates against Muslims, Jews, and all non-Christians.

Pretty rich for Haley Stevens to lecture Abdul El-Sayed about “hate” over an ad his campaign has explicitly disavowed while Mike Rogers is running one of the most racist and bigoted campaigns I’ve ever seen. The hate in this race is being directed at Abdul, not coming from him.

Trump is reportedly planning to restart war with Iran after the election. Some of us have been briefed on the war plan. And while I cannot disclose any details, I can say this: the plan is insane. It will not achieve objectives and will set off a new cycle of escalation.

Sit down, get your smelling salts, watch your blood pressure: serious people are allowed to say that Israel is undemocratic.
Where did I accuse you of being responsible for it? Nowhere. You chose to call Israel’s election “undemocratic.” That utterly lacks seriousness. You might deeply dislike some of the debate and campaigning. I might too. But get back to being an analyst. Not a cheerleader.

If you’re in the 6% of Dems who haven’t consolidated behind el-Sayed you get 10 TV interviews and an op-ed each. I like to think I follow this race closely and I have never once seen an interview or quote from the 9% of Republicans who aren’t committed to Rogers
"The researchers said Rogers has not consolidated Republicans (91%) as well as El-Sayed has consolidated Democrats (94%). Independents preferred El-Sayed to Rogers 52% to 38%" cbsnews.com/detroit/news/el-…

Imagine if a sitting Republican senator said voters should reject Jon Ossoff or Josh Shapiro because they reject Jesus. That would be a big story. This won't be because Islamophobia from powerful Republicans is simply the norm. It's why there's no comparison between the level of Islamophobia and the level of antisemitism in America today. Only one is actively promoted by the state. peterbeinart.substack.com/p/…
Moreno says El-Sayed can’t be a senator because he doesn’t understand that Jesus came here for our salvation.

This stuff is deliberate sabotage. Claiming that you support the candidate while sowing constant doubt, division and feeding into GOP Islamophobic attacks painting him as extreme or antisemitic. AIPAC spent tens of millions to try to elect Haley Stevens, and you can see why.
Haley Stevens on voting for Abdul El-Sayed: "I still very much want our Democratic nominee, his name is Abdul, to win this race. There is so much on the line. But I will be honest, there are a lot of voters in Michigan, I was out knocking doors earlier today, and they are still undecided and they are hurt and they are confused..."
