Apple suspended official product sales in Russia after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Since April 1, 2026, Russian users have also been unable to make new App Store purchases, in-app purchases, or renew Apple subscriptions through the previous mobile-account payment mechanism.
Apple products are still available in Russia, but mainly through third-party retailers and parallel imports rather than through Apple itself.
The same broadly applies to several other major smartphone manufacturers that suspended official sales in Russia. By contrast, Chinese brands continue to sell and support their products there officially.
Companies that withdrew or suspended direct smartphone sales in Russia:
๐บ๐ธ Apple
๐ฐ๐ท Samsung
๐บ๐ธ Google
Companies still actively serving the Russian smartphone market:
๐จ๐ณ Huawei
๐จ๐ณ Xiaomi / Redmi / Poco
๐จ๐ณ OPPO
๐จ๐ณ Vivo
๐จ๐ณ Honor
So while Western and South Korean manufacturers have reduced or suspended their official presence, Chinese smartphone makers have largely remainedโand expanded into the market space left behind.
