Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed was among 46 Egyptian-Americans who signed a 2012 statement supporting Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood-backed President Mohamed Morsi and calling on him to “purge the media and the police as quickly as possible.”
Published days after Morsi issued a declaration expanding his powers and shielding presidential decisions from judicial review, the statement also “strongly rejected” appeals for the US and Europe to intervene against Egypt’s government.
“Dr. Abdul Rahman El-Sayed — New York” was listed as the 33rd signatory. El-Sayed was studying at Columbia University at the time.
Press freedom subsequently deteriorated under the Muslim Brotherhood-backed government. By the end of 2012, at least six journalists faced charges including “insulting the president” or “insulting Islam.”

In 2005, Oneida shut the flatware factory in Sherrill, New York.
A town that had made silverware for MORE THAN 100 YEARS was supposed to be finished.
Two men refused to let that happen.
Their names are Matt Roberts and Greg Owens.
Roberts had managed that factory. Owens was another former Oneida manufacturing manager. When the company ended U.S. production, they bought the plant and the equipment and reopened it the NEXT DAY as Sherrill Manufacturing.
They did not have a giant rescue fund.
They did not have a Hollywood ending waiting.
They had a building, some machines, and a workforce that knew how to make forks, knives, and spoons.
At first they kept making product for Oneida.
Then Oneida pulled the remaining American work and sent it overseas.
That should have been the end.
It wasn’t.
They took government flatware contracts to keep the lights on. In 2010 they filed Chapter 11. They sold unused equipment. They sold space they could no longer fill. They leased back only the part of the factory they could still run.
They came out of bankruptcy in 2013.
Then they did the thing that saved the company.
They built their own brand: Liberty Tabletop.
They sold 18/10 stainless flatware straight to customers who wanted tableware MADE IN THE UNITED STATES.
Not through a department store that could drop them overnight.
Direct.
Today Liberty Tabletop is the only company still manufacturing stainless steel flatware in America.
Same town.
Same trade.
U.S. steel.
About 70 jobs.
They did not bring back 2,000 workers. Nobody did.
What they saved was the last line.
If you want American-made forks and spoons, this is the factory that still makes them.

AUSTIN MAN was released from jail on a plea deal from DA Jose Garza's office. Days later, he broke into a South Austin home and walked into the bedroom where the homeowner was sleeping.
The homeowner shot him dead.
Dmario Jones, 24, was already well known to prosecutors. In May, he was hit with three felonies: organized criminal activity, felony theft, and felony criminal mischief for thousands of dollars in damage.
Garza's office threw out the organized crime charge. Then it dropped the criminal mischief charge. On the theft, prosecutors let him plead guilty and gave him a misdemeanor-level sentence.
He was back on the street within days. One week after the plea, a homeowner woke up to a burglar in their bedroom.
Prosecutors had three felonies and a chance to keep him off the street. They let him go, and a homeowner had to stop him instead.

Few courts have worked harder to wriggle out of the Bruen decision than the Ninth Circuit, and Tuesday’s en banc decision in Yukutake v. Lopez adds a new chapter.
The Ninth Circuit has erred by treating a footnote in a Supreme Court decision as a new standard for a broad swath of gun regulations.
The Court should add Yukutake to its Second Amendment docket.

Church pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell is warning that biblical Christianity is losing influence in America as many believers become increasingly disconnected from Scripture.
Mitchell told The Christian Post that modern Christian culture can sometimes prioritize spiritual experiences, platforms, influence, conferences, podcasts and social media while neglecting biblical theology and Scripture.
He says the issue isn’t limited to the culture outside the church—it can also be seen inside churches and Christian spaces.
🔥 Mitchell is also challenging Christians to reject what he describes as a “soft” version of Jesus designed to avoid offense. His message: don’t reshape Christianity to make it more comfortable—return to biblical truth.
His forthcoming book, Contend, calls Christians to stand firmly for biblical truth while also confronting compromise within themselves.

I can’t believe my eyes
This American has Stage 4 Cancer, his insurance decided to no longer cover him. He went in for his chemotherapy anyway and received the bill
It’s $40,559.19 for one treatment. “One treatment, one doctor's visit and one blood draw. This is what I owe the hospital in order to go back. This is one visit. II'm not going to be able to do this for very long — No insurance. Still waiting”
For those unaware of this man’s situation he had insurance but was informed it was being cut off, he appealed
The average chemotherapy session in America can be anywhere from $2,000 with insurance to $15,000. A full course of treatment can easily cost up to $200,000
There are even documented cases of chemo drugs costing as much as $15,000-162,000 for brand name immunotherapy drugs in America
We need healthcare reform and we need it right now
For fun I looked up how much this would cost in Mexico it’s roughly 400%+ cheaper with sessions as low as $1,500 bucks….
These stories need massive attention because this could be any of us. Today it’s him, but tomorrow I can be me or you or a friend or family member. We need healthcare reform immediately
