No respect for the rule of law. Ramos is well aware that there will be no consequence in Travis County for such behavior.
Texas DPS sent me these videos and photos of what appear to be Ramos moving sandbags, and a barricade, during Sunday's protest after the ICE-involved shooting in North Austin.
Here is the following statement from DPS:
"On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, around 8:45 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers and Special Agents from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) observed Misael Ramos, 40, of Austin, Texas, in the 2400 block of Manor Road in Austin. Ramos had an outstanding warrant stemming from his actions during the Sept. 20, 2026, protests in Austin, where he was captured on camera taking construction barricades, sandbags, and other items and attempting to obstruct traffic. Ramos was taken into custody and transported to the Travis County Jail for booking under the charge of riot."

In July 2020, at a minimum, BLM Protester J.D. recklessly engaged in DEADLY CONDUCT that placed Daniel Perry and a group of pedestrians [protesters] illegally obstructing the roadway on Congress Avenue in imminent danger of serious bodily injury by discharging a firearm at a moving vehicle with the stated intention of marring the body of the vehicle for identification purposes.
Protester J.D. was UNLAWFULLY carrying the weapon at the time.
According to his own statement, J.D. DID NOT witness the shooting of Garrett Foster but only associated a vehicle with shots being fired based upon location and timing.
J.D. stated that he discharged his firearm as the vehicle passed in order to “minimize my risk of hitting anybody other than the vehicle.”
One of the three bullets fired by J.D. ricochet off the roadway and a fragment struck the undercarriage of the Hyundai Ioniq which resulted in a fluid leak. The two others impacted a driver side door panel and the front left quarter panel within mere inches of the front tire. The vehicle is front-wheel drive. A blowout potentially could have resulted in loss of control and casualties due to pedestrians [protesters] being in the roadway.
YET, that incident did not even merit presentation to a Grand Jury by Travis County District Attorney José Garza although the elements of FELONY - DEADLY CONDUCT were clearly met.
SEC. 22.05 Deadly Conduct. (A) person commits an offense if he recklessly engages in conduct that places another in imminent danger of serious bodily injury.
(B) A person commits an offense if he knowingly discharges a firearm at or in the direction of:
(1) One or more individuals; or
(2) A habitation, building, or vehicle and is reckless as to whether the habitation, building or vehicle is occupied.
(C) Recklessness and danger are presumed if the actor knowingly pointed a firearm at or in the direction of another whether or not the actor believed the firearm to be loaded.
(D) For purposes of this section, “Building,” “Habitation,” and “Vehicle” have the meanings assigned those terms by Section 30.01.
(E) An offense under Subsection (A) is a Class A Misdemeanor. An offense under Subsection (B) is a Felony of the Third Degree.

Actually...Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza will do something. He'll criminally charge you for defending yourself against an armed protester in this situation. It's already happened.
There is a video of a “protestor” raising a gun at a small BMW SUV driven by a commuter driving slowly on a public road simply trying to get home in the Austin ICE protests. The motorist is not being aggressive or trying to drive through the crowd illegally impeding a roadway. That is aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and not something people should face when simply using a public road. Police do nothing. Garza will do nothing. Freedom of Assembly does not mean freedom to terrorize other citizens.

I watched the press conference and saw my opponent weaponize the Austin ICE involved shooting for political gain. While he fights for political points, I will stand for the facts.
I urge our community to remain peaceful, reject division, and wait for verified information before reacting. Austin needs truth and responsible leadership, not reckless rhetoric.

Before he was a congressman, Greg Casar sat on the Austin City Council, where he took $150 million out of Austin's police budget and deleted 150 officer positions. Then Austin set a homicide record, and the streets spiraled into disorder we're still living with today.
Today, Mayor @KirkPWatson and @APDChiefDavis handed Rep. Casar the city's podium over a shooting that didn't even happen in his district. He used it to tell Austin that ICE shoots and kills people "with impunity" and needs to leave town.

El Paso's police chief says auto thefts are up 62% since the city's license plate cameras were turned off. The city council just voted to make the ban permanent anyway.
Not because anyone found abuse. In fact the council conceded that there were no known problems with how El Paso PD used the system. Online hysteria is just that powerful.

Is the Travis County District Attorney no longer going to honor his previous committment to expunge criminal charges for those who were arrested in Travis County and later acquitted or pardoned?
I know of cases that fall under both categories.
