Jamey Johnson’s “Lead Me Home” is one of the most beautifully haunting pieces of music ever written and raw, honest, and somehow both heartbreaking and comforting at the same time. I know this song in a way most people never will. I played it at my own father’s funeral.

Wygodne dzieciństwo to najdroższy prezent, jaki możesz dać dziecku. Zapłaci za niego w dorosłym życiu... Dlatego ja w ten weekend dałem synom prezent odwrotny.

Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety sacrificing fundamental freedoms for short-term safety is not a wise trade, and those who do so may ultimately lose both."

In November 2017 in New Haven, Connecticut, Elmer Alvarez was experiencing homelessness when he spotted a cashier's check for $10,000 lying on the street. Despite living in extreme poverty and struggling to meet his basic daily needs, Alvarez felt a strong moral duty to return the money. With the help of a friend who spoke fluent English, he searched for the name on the check and tracked down its owner, local real estate mogul Dr. Roberta Hoskie. When Alvarez met with Hoskie to return the check intact, she was moved to tears by his integrity. Having been a homeless teenage mother herself before building her business empire, Hoskie deeply resonated with his situation. Rather than giving him a simple cash reward that would only offer short-term relief, she committed to completely transforming his life: she provided him with a fully paid apartment for a year, covered his living expenses, enrolled him in English language courses, and funded his real estate classes. Alvarez seized the opportunity, turning his life around by completing his studies and securing stable employment. A year after their emotional encounter, Hoskie appointed Alvarez to the board of directors for her foundation, Outreach Outreach, which supports underprivileged youth and individuals facing homelessness. Today, their story stands as an inspiring testament to how a single act of honesty can create a chain reaction of life-changing goodwill.
