BREAKING: The White House has now directed the Pentagon to develop new strike options against Iran that could be carried out before the November midterms, with the goal of lowering gas prices before the vote, per the Atlantic.
This marks a change from the previous schedule of strikes only after midterms.
Trump administration officials claim that new strikes on Iran before the vote would lower gas prices. "It would make the president look like he got a win and that gas prices would start going down," a Trump official says.
The officials add that a limited operation could be followed by more substantial military action after the midterms. US officials separately said last week that Trump expects to resume bombing Iran after November 3 and is considering putting US boots on the ground in Iran.

BREAKING: An impeachment resolution has been filed against Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi over his meeting with Witkoff and Kushner in New York, which was carried out without any authorization of the Supreme National Security Council or Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
One of the seven grounds in the resolution is that Araghchi's interviews and statements have brought down the global oil price over the past months, giving "the enemy, especially the terrorist American government, room to breathe."
Another accuses him of errors of calculation that contributed to the 12-day war, the current war, and ultimately to the death of the Supreme Leader.
Iran's SNSC chief Rezaei says Iran's conditions had already been passed to the US repeatedly, meaning there was nothing left to discuss that would justify meeting the Americans directly.
