Just your occasional reminder that bicyclists are some of the most insufferable and entitled people on the face of the earth. I've been saying for years that bike lanes on arterials like the one on Roosevelt harm small businesses. They also make it really difficult for workers to deliver goods, furniture and appliances, because those spaces have been totally or mostly removed for the bike lane. And now here we have an example of this conflict. All this jackass had to do was simply ride his bike around the delivery truck and go on his merry way. Just like us drivers do when bicyclists block our path, which they often do deliberately just to be a PITA. But no. He had to make a statement, which will be about as well received by anyone impacted by it as when climate change dipshits block streets. no doubt he will be proud of his little stunt, but the delivery workers, store owners and even other bicyclists will be impacted because he is preventing the delivery guy from getting his job done. And since a PEO and police have called to the scene to sort it out, that costs taxpayers as well. I hope that the police issue a fine. Not to the delivery guy, but to the bicyclist for being a petulant little shit. And for the bicyclist lobby, in case you ever engage in some self reflection, this is why people hate you.

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures. The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019. A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years. Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture. The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment. Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls. "Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded. Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls. The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges. The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway. How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?

A religious display fight in Dearborn is now heading to federal court. A Christian resident is suing the city and Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, alleging officials spent thousands in taxpayer dollars on Ramadan banners and crescent-moon displays while ignoring her repeated requests for Easter, Passover and other Christian and Jewish holidays to receive similar recognition. The resident says she wasn't asking Dearborn to remove the Ramadan displays. "I much prefer to ensure equality of faith traditions, as opposed to a challenge to the display," she wrote in an email cited in the lawsuit. The suit alleges the city's response violated her First and Fourteenth Amendment rights.
