People love the medals, the red carpets, the wedding photos and the “power couple” label.
But the harder part of marriage isn’t looking like an LGBT success story. It’s building a private life when millions of strangers already think they know your relationship.
Maybe gay marriage doesn’t need to be inspirational every second.
Maybe it just needs to be real.

The girls sports issue really is a symbolic one; but symbolism matters. Glad to see some Democrats take this step. Hopefully it signals a bigger shift on more substantive issues.

Segregation and separation are different things. It isn’t ‘segregation’ when we don’t let four-year-olds play rugby against adults. The sexes are separated in certain contexts because men as a class - however they identify - pose a proven, well-evidenced risk to women and girls.

Most gay men took yes for an answer when SCOTUS literally gave us every right we’d ever asked for in Bostock v. Clayton County and Obergefell v. Hodges. The anti-gay male rhetoric you see in some circles of the LGBTQ+ community are from people who want us to stay oppressed.
