1974 Topps number one, Hank Aaron Homerun king. Great card, but… He didn’t break the record until early in the ‘74 season. When was this set produced/released? My real time memories from the late 80s is that sets were always released in January, did they release them much later during the season back then? I know there were different series releases through the early ‘70s, but even if they were still doing that in 1974 (I don’t know if they were), this was card number one in the set, obviously part of the initial release?
