Today we honoured King Harald V of Norway, whose decades long relationship with our Armed Forces reflected the deep friendship between our two nations. @BritishArmy & @RoyalMarines personnel attended his funeral in Oslo providing a marching detachment and lined the route as a mark of respect.

We are deeply saddened by the death of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway. An Honorary General of the @BritishArmy and Honorary Colonel of the @RoyalMarines King Harald was a dear friend of our Armed Forces and exemplified the deep friendship between our nations. Flags will be half masted at all Defence sites in his honour. Our thoughts are with the people of Norway at this sad time.
