A lot of men tend to have unresolved mental health issues they refuse to have addressed because much of the patriarchal system makes them believe getting help is being weak, and weakness is unmanly. Add that to a belief that women and children are their property and you have it.

When society only cares about crimes when a certain minority demographic does it, the majority demographic becomes emboldened to do whatever they want. A black criminal would never ever ever get a picture like this in the NYP. They can't even do that for black victims.

I read up on this one this morning. The guy was suffering from severe mental illness. Tried killing himself several times, recently hospitalized, etc. His wife documented all this on her Facebook.

Former colleague of mine from US (Ohio, to be specific) once said that this happens often in cases where husbands find out their wives committed infidelity and the kids are not his. It's just not as widely reported when it's white people.

It's the "culture" of family court, I have no doubt. Some men would rather end the family rather than be a slave to a woman for decades.
