This was the Seattle TV broadcast market for most of my youth: 4 ABC 5 NBC 7 CBS 9 PBS 11 KSTW (independent) That's it. * KCPQ 13 didn't become widely accessible until well into my teen years
How many channels did your TV have when you were younger?

OPINION: Everyone charged in these cases is either in custody or in a state hospital. The system finally stepped in. But it stepped in after a 19-year-old was dead, a woman needed a skin graft, and a 75-year-old lost sight in one eye. mynorthwest.com/kiro-opinion…

No one should read this as a sign that Rogers is losing the race. A candidate doing what they need to to win is the opposite of losing. But if he does win, it is a sign that the president's agenda has aged like Limburger.
Prices are too high and Canada is not our enemy. We need to end the tariff war — now. In the Senate, I’ll bring both parties together to lower costs and put Michigan families first.
Community note
Mike Rogers previously praised Trump’s tariffs as restoring fairness for Michigan workers. x.com/MikeRogersForM… In Aug. he called tariffs necessary. x.com/MikeRogersForM…

This is a very political statement masquerading as compassion. October 7 was not a "war crime"--a very peculiar term. The people who think of a terrorist massacre as being a crime in a greater war also tend to sympathize with Hamas' motivations.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

Here's today's video commentary. Leaders at the KCRHA appear to be dodging valid public records requests. Maybe this is the time to do something about it.
The records officer at King County's homelessness agency says she spent almost a year locked out of the CEO's emails. The same agency couldn't account for $13 million. @KIROCharlie says shut it down, replace it with an elected body, and give it a sunset clock with measurable outcomes.

On background to a State Department official: “We have been in contact with the Russian government, including our health experts at the State Department with the Foreign Ministry as early as last Friday.”
CDC is aware of and closely monitoring reports of a suspected case of pneumonic plague in the Irkutsk region of Russia that resulted in a death. We are working across the U.S. government to assess developments as additional information becomes available. While the circumstances of this reported case remain unconfirmed, plague is a serious bacterial disease that is treatable with antibiotics, particularly when recognized and treated early. Pneumonic plague can spread person-to-person through respiratory droplets during close contact, which is why rapid identification and treatment of infected individuals, and monitoring of potentially exposed individuals, are important public health measures. At this time, there is no indication of a broader threat to the United States, but CDC and our interagency partners are prepared and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Yes, this is the most reasonable take on what Trump's point could have been (his mind is a Heisenbergian contraption), and Trump's thoughts about such an attack was "let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego," to which the rally crowd applauded.
Trump's point here is that if he didn't start a war with Iran, then San Diego and LA would be at risk from nuclear war.

My husband’s Japanese great uncles were interned in WWII and volunteered out of the camps to go to war in Europe. As a result, they were not only sent on the most dangerous missions to prove their loyalty, the 442nd remains one of the most decorated unit in US military history. My Italian-American family ended up here because they were rescued from the Fascists and Nazis by the Americans, who pulled them out of the train tunnels where they were hiding and slowly starving to death, and handed them Lucky Strike cigarettes and some chocolate.

There is a simple loyalty test for hyphenated Americans. Ask any hyphenated this question. I’ll use Italians as an example “If the United States and Italy went to war who would you fight for?” If they dodge the question or don’t immediately answer the United States they are not American.

Of course we'll be chided for not having a sense of humor when we suggest that the president's moldering musings reveal a treasonous mindset and a willingness to breach his oath in the most sinister way imaginable. Yet, it seems Republicans are content to see where this leads.
Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

This should outrage every American. This is the president of the United States telling Iran to bomb American cities. I live in Los Angeles, but that’s beside the point. Tommorow it could be your city. My fellow Americans, this is not normal. This is not funny. This behavior should ring alarm bells for us all!

Insanity confirmed just minutes ago by AP: two commercial ships were just attacked by drones in NATO member Bulgaria's EEZ. One ship sank on the spot. The other is on fire. Several crew members are missing and others are grievously injured. The Bulgarian government convened an emergency meeting. This is the first attack on shipping in Bulgaria's economic zone in the Black Sea. apnews.com/article/bulgaria-…
