That day, I was jolted out of my complacency and woke up to the poisonous ideology that had quietly taken hold across large swathes of the Left and academia. People like @piersmorgan who don't know (or pretend not to understand) the proven facts about the war in Gaza and the number of civilian deaths are always quick to claim Israel's actions are "massively disproportionate" and that they should show more "restraint". But they never answer this key question: What would be the PROPORTIONATE response by Israel to the savage invasion by Hamas on October 7 to murder, rape, torture and kidnap hundreds of Israeli civilians?

Disproportionate? This is war. Israel has show a ridiculous degree of restraint.

Bullies always look for people who it is socially acceptable to target. Female bullies target low status and socially awkward white men so they can punch down at people who lack the social ability to defend themselves, while pretending they're punching up at those with power.

This sort of thinking about identity and nationality is quite alien to non-Westerners. Chinese people would laugh at the notion that a white baby born in their country is "Chinese." They would call that baby a "foreigner" even if they spoke fluent Mandarin.

Finally, someone nailed the aesthetics to convey the civilizational stake of our present age. Standing before the acropolis as the sun bathed its marble in warm tones, Rubio makes the case for the grandeur and virtues of Western civilization in all its splendor. Empires have risen and vanished beneath that ridge, and the stones remain, indifferent to the fashion of the hour. Rare to hear a Western leader use vocabulary that modern education has largely purged - sacrifice, duty, inheritance, the debt owed to those who built before us. The men who raised those columns did not do so under the illusion of permanent safety. They understood what separates glory and ruin, and that the only lasting answer to ruin is the deliberate transmission of daring and courage. It's a glorious speech, truly one for the ages.

A real rape victim is not going to initiate friendly (and possibly sexual) contact again with her alleged rapist, as Jane Doe did. The campus rape industry argues that doing so is a perfectly normal response to rape simply in order shore up their preposterous and nonfalsifiable fiction of rape culture.
