I built the same backend in Rust, Go, Node and Python, then let each language pick its best event. - Python lost one event by 203× and won another by 3.3×. - Rust blurred an image 203× faster than Python, then lost to Python at maths by 3.3×. - Go came within 1 microsecond of Rust on API requests, and was the slowest of all four at hashing passwords. - Node won the most events and beat Rust at JSON, then lost matrix multiplication to Python by 59×.

So today I finally tried a bunch of things I'd been meaning to check out for ages like Pi, Fx, Herdr, and T3 Code. Uff, there's so much out there I didn't even know about or had never used.

One piece of feedback, or rather a feature request, for the Kivi team. Here's the scenario: suppose I'm dictating something and Kivi writes a name incorrectly. For example, I say "Aaryan," but it writes "Aryan." Every time it gets a name wrong, I go to that word after the dictation is over and correct it. At that moment, Kivi should automatically take that as feedback and add it to its dictionary, so the next time I dictate that name, it doesn't make the same mistake again. This would be a great addition and could make the user experience so much better. cc @heykiviai @ShubhangiYaps

there's this one line i heard back in class 12 that's stuck with me still "if someone pays you 10 rupees for your work, give them 15 rupees worth of value" i've lived by it ever since. whether it's a task at work or anything else, if i'm paid x, i try to give 1.5x, no matter what and honestly, it's worked out really well for me so far

the best part of being really good at a niche skill is that it gets so easy for you, it almost feels like nothing and yet you still charge a heck of a lot for it. sometimes you catch yourself thinking, "wait, i could do this for cheap." but then the business side of you steps in: "no way. i put years into this. it might take me 5 minutes, but someone else couldn't pull it off in 10 hours." so why not? plus, a friend told me a long time ago, "if you're good at something, never do it for free."

got $100 of azure credits for a whole year! no more paying for a vps, and i think that's enough to cover my personal projects.
