I don’t have all the answers, but I DO have questions. 2x National Edward R. Murrow & 6x Emmy Winner. 40 yr Journalist. @Cronkite_ASU Alum. Not Medical advice!

I'm a retired journalist frustrated with poor quality reporting - particularly about COVID. These transgressions are dangerous and potentially deadly. My goal: Uncover errors, show lack of context, and point out the questions not being asked. And then grade it like J-School.

As a former official, this is one of the easiest calls to make and the officials got it right. It's virtually impossible to make a mistake. There is one official directly under each upright. They get to look straight up and see if it's inside or outside the post.

🇮🇱 🇮🇳 WATCH: HERO ISRAELI DOCTOR SHOTA MUSAEV ON HOW HE SAVED THE LIFE OF INDIAN PILOT SMIT MACHCHHAR Reporter: The main hero, perhaps it can be said, who saved... Dr. Shota Musaev: I think everyone was a hero. I don't think that I am a hero or someone else. Everyone, it was teamwork. A few more moments, and we wouldn't have been here. We... we managed to really take control of the whole event and... we did it. I think a few more moments, and we wouldn't have been here anymore. Reporter: Wait, let's get things straight. First of all, what is your full name? Dr. Shota Musaev: Dr. Shota Musaev. Reporter: Doctor, you were actually there on the flight, and it can actually be said that you saved the life of the pilot? Dr. Shota Musaev: That... it can be said that yes. It can be said that yes. Reporter: Tell me about those moments. Dr. Shota Musaev: A person injured in the head, in the hands, in... in the whole body, covered in blood. And what could be done at that moment, we did. Of course, there was real panic there, and screams, and... Reporter: How do you handle a situation like that, especially given your wife's panic? Dr. Shota Musaev: During that time, you simply don't think; you do... what the body gives you and what... what you do to survive. That's the point. Reporter: And regarding... here is the father, Yosef, who we saw earlier, who was very, very emotional and waited... Dr. Shota Musaev: Yes. Yosef (Father): We have today... an open miracle, guys, an open miracle! Believe in miracles, believe! Believe in miracles! Reporter: Yes, Miri, the excitement here is great. Thank you, my dear... Dr. Shota Musaev: I think... I think there were guys there as well, real heroes, who also managed to enter and take control of everything, and... they did wonderful work. All of us together, hand in hand, and the whole plane... I think truly everyone as one, we were together like one whole, and we supported one another, and we did it in the end. Reporter: Wonderful. Is there family, children, your wife? Dr. Shota Musaev: My wife... my wife and my children. My wife has already run ahead... Reporter: Thank you. Dr. Shota Musaev: She helped us with prayers, and she helped everyone, I think, on the plane.
🇮🇳🇮🇱 Soon a hero in India. Meet Dr. Shota Musayev, the Israeli dentist who ran toward the cockpit of flydubai FZ1073 - first to fight, then to save the life of Captain Smit Machchhar after the co-pilot stabbed him mid-air. Machchhar suffered heavy bleeding from the head and hands. Musayev was the only doctor on the plane.

EXCLUSIVE: An Israeli passenger told me he had to shake two additional pilots into action as his flydubai flight was diving and fellow passengers fought an attacker near the cockpit. “I had to shake them to get them to move to the front and take control of the plane.” He said passengers used charging cables to restrain the attacker. An Israeli dentist treated the wounded pilot. We corresponded for several hours on WhatsApp while he was still in Saudi Arabia. He was precise about who had done what, describing his own role as “combat support,” with a smiley face. Then he told me about a girl whose father was fighting near the cockpit. She screamed that she didn’t want him to die. “That was the only moment when I stopped and thought about my own children.” Flydubai confirmed a safe landing in Tabuk and that all passengers were safe. His detailed account has not been independently verified; the motive remains unconfirmed. My full account for The Jerusalem Post is in the reply.

Well, that's an interesting turn of events.
Shareholders of The New York Times filed a lawsuit today, arguing the paper has failed to meet its most basic obligation: to tell readers the truth and correct itself in a timely fashion when it doesn’t. Exclusive for @TheFP here: thefp.com/p/exclusive-shareh…

Maybe they're the baddies?
It appears that nothing says "saving democracy" like an old-fashioned military coup. According to a new survey, 60 percent of Democrats would support a coup to get rid of President Trump. stratpolitics.org/wp-content… It is akin to supporting drive-by shootings to bolster nonviolence.

Uranus, its rings, and its moons this morning, captured under excellent conditions with the 24in scope. By far my best capture of the epsilon ring to date. 1hr of data with IR720nm longpass filter.

BREAKING: Netanyahu has cut short his trip to the US and cancelled the planned Texas stop, flying to New York and returning to Israel the same day, shortly after Trump cut short his own weekend at Camp David to return to the White House tonight instead of tomorrow, citing the potential for significant escalation in the Middle East. At the same time, US embassies across the entire Middle East have issued security alerts for American citizens in the past hours. Trump said on Thursday he is approaching "a major turning point in the war with Iran" and asked "Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?"

Middle East: Due to tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation. Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance and be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. Iranian-supported Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including civilian airports. This military conflict has the potential to escalate rapidly. Americans outside the Middle East should seriously reconsider travel to and through the region. Those who do travel to or from the region should monitor information about airport and airline operations. U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including U.S. businesses and other institutions.
