🌌 We've traced the journey of high-energy cosmic particles across 42 light-years. Using joint observations from the Einstein Probe (EP) and the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), we’ve discovered an extraordinarily long X-ray tail near a pulsar about 4,600 light-years from Earth. Stretching about 42 light-years, the tail aligns with ultrahigh-energy gamma-ray emission detected by LHAASO, providing new evidence that high-energy particles can travel through interstellar space along a preferred direction. 🌌 We've discovered the lowest-mass double neutron star system known to date! Using FAST, we identified PSR J1856-0039, with a total mass of just 2.488 Suns and an orbital period of 2.36 hours. The system offers a rare test of general relativity, showing effects including gravitational redshift, time dilation and orbital decay caused by gravitational-wave emission. ✨ We've uncovered a 100-million-year-old "firefly" revealing the early evolution of insect communication. 🐞 Preserved in Burmese amber, the newly discovered firefly-like beetle Icaroramusretains unusual antennae and light-producing organs. Its antennae may have helped detect chemical signals and find mates. Its light-producing organs may have served defense functions, while possibly representing an early step toward light-based communication. This tiny insect shows that ancient firefly relatives had already evolved complex sensory systems over 100 million years ago. Using SDSS data, we found that satellite galaxy motions are linked to cosmic filaments, providing observational evidence for a two-stage process: 1/ Matter first flows into filaments. 2/ It then travels along them toward galaxy groups and clusters. 🔬We've made the most precise measurement yet of the Λ hyperon's electric dipole moment (EDM), improving precision by about 1,000× over the 1981 result. 🌀The Λ hyperon is a short-lived subatomic particle containing a strange quark. Its EDM describes a tiny imbalance in how positive and negative charge is distributed. ⚛️Using quantum entanglement between Λ and anti-Λ hyperons, we found no significant EDM signal—but demonstrated a new way to study fleeting particles and probe new physics.
