🚨On Sept. 23, federal, state, and local partners worked together to disrupt a suspected human smuggling event near Padre Island National Seashore, Texas. After U.S. Border Patrol identified suspicious vehicles in the area, a U.S. Coast Guard aircraft located individuals associated with the vehicles, and a Corpus Christi Marine Unit agent deployed a small unmanned aircraft system to support responding law enforcement partners. The coordinated operation led to the arrest of a U.S. citizen driver and six noncitizens found hiding in the dunes.
From the air, on the ground, and across agencies, we will stop and arrest anyone attempting to cross our borders illegally.

The target: a 27-foot cuddy cabin vessel suspected of being used for maritime smuggling.
The outcome: a safe interdiction without incident.
AMO and USCG personnel apprehended 23 individuals, including one suspected smuggler, a Cuban national, and 22 migrants of various nationalities: eight Ecuadorian nationals, 13 Chinese nationals, and one Dominican national.
The individuals were transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Pablo Valent for processing, and the vessel was seized.
This operation sends a clear message: attempting to enter the United States unlawfully by sea is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk, and will not go undetected.

🚨Threats to our nation will be stopped long before they reach our shores.
On Sept. 11, an Air and Marine Operations P-3 on routine patrol detected a go-fast vessel in the source and transit zone that was initially dead in the water, then got underway before U.S. Coast Guard assets arrived. The P-3 crew vectored USCG air and surface assets to the vessel for a successful interdiction.
The operation resulted in 3 suspects detained and approximately 6,800 lbs. of cocaine seized at sea.

On Sept. 3, a Miami Air and Marine Branch Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft detected a rustic vessel approximately 45 nautical miles south of Marathon, Florida, while supporting Operation Vigilant Sentry patrols. The aircrew relayed the vessel’s location to Sector Key West and provided vectors to responding U.S. Coast Guard assets. The successful interdiction resulted 15 illegal aliens apprehended, who were transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Pablo Valent for repatriation to Cuba. Great teamwork!
