Is it still okay to scare kids on Halloween these days? I'm not sure if they're too sensitive or not. When I was a kid, there was this couple, the Gordons, who set their entranceway up with a table with a platter on it, and the old man would walk to the door in a very undertaker-like way, would invite us in, then point to a big platter with a lid on it sitting on the table. His wife was positioned under the table with her head through a hole in the platter, and when you opened it to reach for a treat, she would open her eyes as if just awakened from the dead, then lunge at you and try to bite your hand. It was terrifying and hilarious all at the same time.
All of us kids loved them, but I'm not sure if that would wash today.
