This is an “inside baseball” type stat that won’t trump quality wins, schedule strength and record strength and what the committee sees on film. But it will put a number to answer the question: how tough is the daily grind in the each league? It’s not even equal within them.

Not nearly enough cross conf matchups to adequately determine this. CFB would have to adopt an NFL style of scheduling seeded teams across conferences to even give this a chance of being a viable metric.
NEW: The College Football Playoff committee will now consider a strength-of-conference metric in its selection process, @CFBHeather reports.
The new metric will help determine the strength of each conference based on the schedule strength of each team in its league.

When a conference tries to argue their schedule is tougher and more physical and thus more guys get hurt, is it also admitting that this schedule weakens their teams more than others & could be/should be considered to be of lesser quality at year end because of said physicality?
